A horror opening sequence Treatment Sheet

Cast list John Pattison – antagonist Michael Rowell – Victim for opening sequence Story Overview A young man with obsessive difficulties, takes things too far as he now begins to be obsessed with physical beings. His victims are found being followed and haunted by this man, eventually becoming a part of his collection. Outline of opening horror sequence Beginning- a variety of canted angles will be used showing the insides of the room. Pull focus will be also used showing photos on the wall and then pulling into the jars filled with collections of the victims. Music will be at a droned level with no stand out sounds slowly building up the suspense. Middle- Moving images will start to come in focus showing through the perspective of the murder following them and also mid chase. These set of films will pop up every now and then for a brief period of time, the use of still images will still be on show but more of the room will be on display showing this man’s un-healthy obsession. The music will now start to increase in presence with random samples of screams shouting out for help etc. Ending – off angles only showing brief revealing’s of the antagonist will come in place with close ups on hands at work with his collection etc. A long shot will also be used with his back faced towards the camera as he looks at his collection. Jump cuts will be used on the character as he starts to lash out destroying his collection. He is then shown through a long shot again with his face turned away and in his hands as he is curled up on the floor in tears. The music builds up even more increasing in volume and speed till it cuts off to the titles. This series of shots shows the character to partly not want this obsession, as he is aware its wrong but he can’t live without it.

Synopsis A young female adult going by the name of Sarah is having just a casual day while working in this small café. A young man of the name john is a regular there but has never spoken to Sarah and never seems to make any contact with any one who enters or leaves the café. Till one day Sarah serves the man a drink and immediately opens this nightmarish world that is created by the character john. He becomes obsessed with her stealing items of her belongings and spying on her in and out of work. John has found himself devoting his life to her mentally destroying him yet twisting him more and more, he is aware it is wrong but he just can’t stop. Yet unlike others he has just killed in the past he begins to fall for her even more, killing those who make any sign of contact with Sarah even family members as he wants her to himself and no-one else. Sarah begins to realize what is happening around her as she stumbles upon john’s hidden room while waiting for him on a date at his home. She see’s this shrine built around her and previous people as well as the friends and family that have been murdered. She runs off as john comes back to find her gone and the door left open. John in anger smashes his collection and then falls in agony on the floor and realizes that he must get rid of Sarah before authorities find him out. Costumes John (Antagonist) – Creased blue shirt with stains. Glasses Messed up hair Title sequence victims- Casual clothes i.e. jeans, t-shirt, shirt etc. Locations For The title sequence I want the location to be of a room isolated from the outside with darkened windows and a low lighting on the inside creating this eerie atmosphere which itself represents john’s character.
