Overview of Story

They say a parents worst nightmare is losing a child. This is the horror that I intend to use in my movie. The scariest of all things is the unknown, and even when identifying or personifying this fear having no motive, other than the simple need rather than desire to do it gives a feeling of helplessness and terror. The story is about willing abduction and a parent’s helpless search for answers only to find a terrible truth and a confrontation with an ancient entity of sorrow. Is the truth always worth the chase?

Outline of opening horror sequence

BeginningIn my story a group of children will be playing in a park together and we see at the edge of the camera a tall faceless man watching. As the camera pulls him into more focus the camera will flicker and we will see unstable interference.Fade in with the OX symbol and the sound of rewinding tape. The children slowly drop their toys and we cut to a close up on the toys, now broken, and see them start to decay with wind and dust covering them as if we are fast forwarding through time, we cut to the living room of an old home facing the fireplace with pictures of children on the mantle, no windows and only dim light can be seen and the same decay happens their as well. (close up on a picture of one child as the frame cracks suddenly. A rewind sound is heard again with more interference as we see a shadow and vague outline of slender man appear on the photograph.

MiddleWe see the children walking towards the man arms outstretched, we start with a side view of the children walking from the right side of the camera to the left, as the last is about to pass we cut to a shot of the children walking towards the camera, black expressions. Finally we cut to a image of the children walking towards the man, his arms slowly outstretch, he is not in focus but is instead blurred while still being in the center of the frame the entire time. The screen shows interference again as the man comes into greater focus and the children all turn towards the camera at the last moment. The screen goes black but we still see the faint glow from the whites of their eyes, they slowly fade

EndWe cut to a desolate abandoned area with bones and freshly dug earth and see the ox flash.Cut to parents in tears pinning up missing posters, followed by an immediate close up of a missing poster, slowly zoom out to show a wall full of posters clearly spanning across decades.Cut to a hill top and fast forward showing the day passing till we have a sunrise in orange light and we close up on the base of an old dead tree.Bodies lying around it, skeletons and corpses. It is clear none of the bodies have injuries but they are all dirty with filthy, but undamaged clothing. We see the shadow of a child swinging from the tree, clearly hung and moving in a gentle breeze. We cut and see the slender man watching solemnly head bowed, the tree and figure in the tree is out of focus, but we can see it is a young girl with a white ribbon in her hair, the ribbon comes loose in the breeze. We cut to a extreme long shot, with the tree in the distance and we finish with the ribbon flying into the camera shot.

Props List

Vodka bottle

this will be held by chav 1 and will be almost empty, implying to the audience that this is a group of underage drinkers, and possibly trash. The sort of people you love to hate.

Joint

held by chav 2. Used for the same reason as the vodka bottle, the chav will pull out the joint and light it then take a long deep drag, we will zoom in slowly on his face as he exhales.

lighter

used in conjunction with the joint

morphsuit

What is a villain without his signature outfit? This is the slenderman costume, he will wear a black suit on top giving him a scene of the unknown and mystery. Without a visible face it prevents the protagonist from knowing just who the foe is, adding terror and taking away the ability to put a face to the foe.

Childrens toys

the idea of teenagers playing with children’s toys is rather disturbing, especially if the teenagers are dressed in white “pure” outfits. It gives the impression of the villain being able to twist and break the basic instincts and values of the victims.

Broken toys

by showing the toys breaking then the teens dying in dirty white clothing I attempts to show the death of innocence in these victims, showing that my villain has a different incentive than just mass murder on his mind. It also asks the question why does he want to kill the innocence of the world?

Chav clothing

typical teen waste of space clothing. Tells the audience these are loud, obnoxious and generally unlikable creeps. Makes the audience not truly care for the character, and shows they are only intended to be fodder to reveal the villain of the show.

“innocent” outfits

a huge contrast to the chavs original clothing. By wearing these t shows that they has thrown away the skummy side of themselves and are now pure and or innocent. This with the glazed over zombifies expressions on their face shows it is not something natural for them.
