• Find out about your company’s policy regarding foggy conditions.

• Consider postponing your trip until the fog clears.

• Drive slowly and turn on your headlights.

• Please don’t use your emergency flashers. This should only be used if you stop at the shoulder or if you have problems with your vehicle.

• Don’t stop in the middle of the road or leave your vehicle unattended. Drive it to the shoulder and put your emergency flashers on so that other drivers can see you.

• Don’t forget to fasten your seatbelt and be aware of drivers who don’t use their headlights.

• Make sure others can see you. Turn on your lights and use low beams. High beams direct the light up into the fog, making it difficult to see you.

• Remember that other drivers are not able to see with fog around, so signal early to let them know your intended action.

• Be alert for slow moving vehicles and traffic stopped ahead.

• During light fogs, control your speed so that

you have sufficient visibility.
