Transport or Transportation

Definition

Transportation or Transport is the movement of people and goods from one place to another.

Example 1: WalkingWalking is a form of simple transport. Walking helps to move the body from one place to another.

Example 2: SkateboardsSkateboarding can help to move the body from one place to another. However, there must be a human helper to push the board along in order for it to move in one specific direction.

Example 3: BicyclingThe wheels on a bicycle helps the human operator to move faster than walking or skate boarding. In addition, the human can transport materials (like a large bag) while riding.

Example 4: School BusChildren are transported every school day to and from school by a school bus or other types of transportation.

Example 5: TruckingMillions of goods are delivered or moved from place to place by trucks every day.

Example 6: RailroadsMany people rely on the transit train systems to move them from city to city. New York City has one of the largest subway train systems in the United States.

Example 7: AirplanesAirplanes allow movement of people and goods from country to country. This is one of the most complex types of transport.

Example 8: Human Powered TransportBeds with wheels help doctors and nurses to transport or move their patients from room to room in a hospital.

Example 9: Highway TransportMany people rely on their personal vehicles to take them from one place to another. Others may rely on a city’s transit system instead.

Example 10: Maritime TransportTransport by water was once more popularly used than that of air planes. It is still considered to be a great form of transportation for many companies with large amounts of goods to move from one country to another.
