Astrologically, the problem is that the ecliptic positions of the planets as found in your ephemerides are their coordinates as measured from a fiducial (0 Aries or the Equinox) which is constantly "slipping" at the mean rate of 50.2564" per year. Astro- nomically, this means that the "first point of Aries" can now be found at about 5.5 degrees of the Constellation Pisces. This "slippage" will continue until, in approximately 25,000 years (minus 24.5 degrees), the cycle will have completed itself and 0 Aries (the sign) and 0 Aries (the Constellation) will once again be realigned. For this reason, both systems have a tendency to ignore each other. This is unfortunate, for it is not necessary to adopt the sidereal constellations in order to eliminate precession, although those that do will very quickly be impressed by the straight ahead, no-nonsense symbolism inherent in them. That's how long it will take Saturn, at its mean diurnal motion of 2'01" to travel the 25' of accumu- lated precession. It is this discrepancy which has given rise to the phrase" time lag in transits", as well as the reinstatement of the fixed or Sidereal zodiac. TRANSITS IN THE SIDEREAL

Buz Overbeck and Golda Jones

The intent of this exercise is to demon stratethat the timing of transits to the natal chartis significantly improved when the amount ofprecession that has accumulated from birthto the event is eliminated.

Astrologically, the problem is that the ecl ipt icpositions of the planets as found in yourephemerides are their coordinates asmeasured from a fiducial (0 Aries or theEquinox) which is constantly "s l ipping" at themean rate of 50.2564" per year. Astro-nomically, this means that the "f irst point ofAries" can now be found at about 5.5 degreesof the Constellation Pisces.

This "s l ippage" will continue until, inapproximately 25,000 years (minus 24.5degrees), the cycle will have completed i tse l fand 0 Aries (the sign) and 0 Aries (theConstellation) will once again be realigned.

The cause of this phe nomena is called the

are more striking than their tropical counterparts.

Though few followers o f either the tro pical zodiac(TZ) or the sidereal zodiac (SZ) care to admit it,the essential difference between the two is NOTthe "signs vs. the constellations", but rather theTIME generated between the first system whichignores precession, and the second system whichdoes not. For this reason, both systems have atendency to ignore each other.

This is unfortunate, for it is not necessary toadopt the sidereal constellations in order toeliminate precession, although those that dowill very quickly be impressed by the straightahead, no-nonsense symbolism inherent inthem. As an example, examine the sign andconstellation placements o f our subject, treatedin detail further in the article, keeping in mindthat the aspects and house positions remain thesame in either system.

Precessional El iminationThe cause of this phe nomena is called the"precession of the equinoxes”, an explanationof which can be found in any astronomicaltext.

Again astrologically, this means that i f youare, say 30 years old, approximately 25minutes of precession has accumulated sinceyou were born. Now, if 25' of arc seemsinsignificant to you, consider this. That's howlong it will take Saturn, at its mean diurnalmotion of 2'01" to travel the 25' of accumu-lated precession.

It is this discrepancy which has given riseto the phrase" time lag in transits", as wellas the reinstatement o f the fixed or Siderealzodiac.

As the constellational zodiac is measured froma fixed, or nearly so, fiducial, procession andits elimination is never a factor, this is whyevent and return charts in the sidereal

For those who are really interested, convertyour chart to its constellational equiva lentand pick up a sidereal ephemeris for thecurrent year. Comparison o f the two will yieldcontacts that are precessionally correct. It is agood idea at first to examine transitingplanets to natal planets unless you are certainof your birth time or are working from acarefully rectified chart, in which case by allmeans include the angles.

Transits andADOLF HITLER

The subject of this study is the exami-nation of the tropical and sidereal positions ofthe transiting planets affecting Adolf Hitler onthe day of his death. Following is anexplanation of the chart and methods used.

1. Natal chart as prepared and carefullyrectified by primary directions to 37 l i feevents by the excellent German astrologerand mathematician, Alexander Marr.

The chart is redrawn but presented in itsoriginal tropical format using the Topocentricdomification system of Nelson Page asfavored by Mr. Marr.

2. The Sidereal equivalent was prepared bythe authors by applying an ayanamsa (thedifference between TZ and SZ) of - 23 11'23"

can be found exactly 90 degrees in right ascensionfrom the RAMC of the chart.

Sym: EP2. The Vertex. This point is becoming known asthe "third angle" of the chart. It is found by adding180 degrees to the RAMC of the chart and findingthe ascendant in the tables at the co-latitude ( 90-lat of birth). Experimentation insinuates that this"ang le " indicates the impetus, or destiny, of thechart. The Vertex is that point where the PrimeVertical intersects the ecliptic.

Sym: Vx1. Transneptunian Planets. The following

Uranian sensitive "points" were included to showthose interested, the often uncanny re sultsobtained when they are used. They are used verysparingly so as not to upset the sensibilities o f themore orthodox.

A. HADES: Deterioration - abnormal circumstances - Hell - want - Death.

B. ADMETOS: Death - separation - stoppage - standstill - finality.C. VULCANUS: Tremendous force -as derived from the statistically determined

Synetic Vernal Point Ephemeris of Allen-Stahl. It is presented here in its 90 degreeformat.

3. Transit positions at noon, Apr 30, 1945,Swiss Ephemeris tropical, converted toSidereal as above by the SVP of date: 2358'18.5" yielding a precession accumulationfrom birth o f 46' 55.5".

4. The chart was examined on a 90 degreeUranian dial using the "hard" aspects favoredby that system based on a 22.5 degree series,i.e., : 0;22.5; 45; 67.5; 90; 112.5; 135; 157.5and 180 degrees. In other words, Oppositions,Sesquiquadrate, Square, Semi-Square and 1/2Semi-Square.

In addition, the following sensitive points wereincluded as they are currently of interest andsubjects o f study for the advanced astrologer.

1. The East Point, or equatorial ascendant. Thispoint is beginning to be recognized as anextremely sensitive point in both Meteorologicaland Natal Astrology. While its speci f ic effect isstill under investigation, there is no doubt thatplanets in hard aspect to the East Point g ener-ate considerable influence on the STABILITY ofthe person or place, in keeping with theintrinsic nature of those planets. The East Point

It is one of astrology's great shortcomings as ascience that it lacks a precise language by whichtwo astrologers of differing systems can still makethemselves understood. Where as two scientists, ignorant of each others language, will sti l l find acommon ground in an expression such as sin 2x=2sin x cos x, astrologers in the same position, withan expression such as Moon opposition Me rcury, will not.

The reason for this is, of course, that in astrologyand its many varied systems, the Moon can mean55 to 60 different things, while Mercury can "rule"150 more. That traditional, or orthodox astrology isstrangled with ruler-ships and meanings is a factobvious to anyone who reflects on the subject, ortries to write an article such as this.

This also accounts, in part, for what can be calledthe astrological "Bright Flight", where many ofastrology's more intelligent and potentially greatastrologers become disillusioned by the enormity ofa system with which anything can be proved atanytime after the fact, and so, after three or fouryears, either drop it entirely, or escape into anastrological system whose language is more precise,

C. VULCANUS: Tremendous force - power - intensity.

such as the Uranian system with its clipped, succinct keywords, the scienti f ical lystreamlined Cosmobiology of Ebertin, or themathematically exact methods of sidereal.

It is personally felt that a synthesis of thethree offer the most satisfactory results as thisarticle hopes to show.

So, in an effort to reach a common ground withthe reader, the following "dictionary" is offeredto help those unacquainted with the planetarysymbolism of the Uranian system whose"keywords" form the basis of this analysis.

The slash (/) indicates the axis determined bythe mid-point of the combined planets. Theyare, in order of their appearance:

Following is a list, (abridged for publication) of thetransit structures affecting the chart of Adolf Hitleron the day that he and Eva Braun, his wife of twodays, allegedly committed suicide.

Included are the orbs o f f exact in both systems. Atthe end of each set, the orbs are summed and themean taken to determine the average orb for eachset, after which the sum of the set averages aretaken and the mean determined in order to find theaverage orb of the structures used on that day.

This interpretation is purposely kept assimple as possible so as not to venture toofar from the keywords given.

A glance at the bottom line indicates that, precessionally speaking, Hitler experi enced aplanetary "gang bang" on April 30, 1945, whileby "ordinary" measure he would have alreadylived through it by an average of 40.5' of arc, which will seem insignificant to only thoseunaware of how many days it takes the slowerplanets to cover that distance. This would alsoseem to precessionally validate Mr. Marr'sexcellent rectification. For those sti l l hung up onthe 'Signs vs. Constellations", here are theplacements of
