Reaching Your Potential An education
increases lifetime income. Nationally, median
annual earnings among people 25 and older
who have earned associate degrees or
attended some college are 20% higher than
for high school graduates. For Suffolk County
residents, the difference is 23% per year
(U.S. Census Bureau American Community
Survey 1-year estimates, 2012).
Financial Aid We are committed to providing
our students with assistance to explore all
available funding options. Each year, Suffolk
awards more than $63 million in federal and
state financial aid to more than 18,000
students.
Scholarships Suffolk also offers a broad
range of scholarships for incoming, existing
and graduating students. In fact, the Suffolk
Community College Foundation annually awards
more than $550,000 in student scholarships.

With 100 degree and certificate programs,
as well as articulation and dual admissions
agreements with many local and nationally
renowned four-year schools, our students are
able to pursue a wide variety of interests
and transfer with full credit to a four-year
college or university to pursue a bachelor’s
degree. In fact, our graduates often save tens of
thousands of dollars while going on to excel at
some of the nation’s most recognized institutions.

STEM Success Ninety-four percent of Suffolk’s graduates from the National Science Foundation (NSF)scholarship program in Science, Technology and Mathematics (STEM)have transferred to four-year institutions to continue their studies.STEM scholars intern at Stony BrookUniversity, Brookhaven National Laboratory and other nationally organized technology centers.
