Golf Squad for Maranatha Christian School students is offered during your school’s Fall/Spring Semesters. It is a six to twelve week, after school club that meets once a week for an hour with a golf industry professional. All participating families receive weekly emails detailing what students will be doing and learning in class. All essentials are provided during class (Golf Squad Handbook, training equip-ment, fitted golf clubs, etc.). After-School Tennis for Ages 5-10. Using age appropriate equipment, we teach kids to develp court awareness, timing and hand-eye coordiantion on a youth-size court which we create on your school’s playground. Let’s Cook! is a fun, engaging and completely hands-on cooking program for chil-dren of all ages. Our incredible 6th graders are engineering bridges to the future. Each group was given a budget along with specific materials to design and create a model of a bridge that crosses a canyon. The bridge had to support 50g of weight, stand across a 50cm gap without caving in, and in addition for every weight added that exceeded the 50g points were added to their final grade. The canyon walls were formed by two stacks of books placed 50cm apart. No components of the bridge, except for segments of string could be longer than 25 cm. Impressive work!

The first grade class braved the rain this week to check on their garden and set up individual makeshift greenhouses. Mrs. Hughes helped the eager students plant ‘cosmo’ seeds for the upcoming spring sea-son. Stop by in the coming weeks to see the progress; we can’t wait to see the flowers bloom!

Just like the students on the ‘big’ campus, our preschool students share time together during their scheduled Chapels to hear God’s word. This week, Mrs. Rodiles was selected to lead Chapel for the first time in 2019! The students learned about trusting in the Lord at all times. Mrs. Rodiles read the story of how Jesus calms the storm from Matthew 8:24. It’s comforting to know that our Lord knows how to calm our hearts!
