TRANSFERCENTER
The Oxnard College Transfer Center is located in
the Counseling Center, upstairs in the Student
Services & Administration building across from
the gym, and next to the Child Development
Center on Simpson Drive.
Students are provided with specific information
and dates that will support their efforts to transfer
to a four-year university. Transfer Counselors
and University Reps are available to meet with
students to confirm educational planning that
promotes successful transfer opportunities.

The Transfer Center offers activities, resources, and
support services designed to facilitate the smooth
transition of Oxnard College students to the four-
year college or university.
We welcome you to the Transfer Center during the
first week of any new term to get specific dates and
locations of services. You can meet with a counselor
at least twice a semester to plan, create, and
complete your transfer goals. Find out how to take
advantage of our broad range of services.

TRANSFER CENTER CHECKlIST
p Once you have enrolled and gone through the
Matriculation Process, meet with an Oxnard College
(OC) Counselor and develop a transfer educational
plan. Inquire about the appropriate CSU-GE or IGETC
general education requirements and the lower division
courses required for your major. Take appropriate
Math, English and units to complete transfer goals in a
timely manner.
p If you have not identified a major, meet with a
Counselor and enroll in PG R101 “Career Development
and Life Plan” or PG R102 “College Success” to help you
explore major and career options.
p Utilize the Transfer Center. Attend transfer fairs,
go on college tours, meet college representatives, and
attend the transfer workshops.
p Talk to Financial Aid Advisor at OC. Apply for
financial aid by filling out the “Free Application for
Federal Student Aid” (FAFSA) www.fafsa.org by March
2nd.
p Know the University Admissions Requirements.
Your counselor can help you understand these
requirements. Follow the appropriate CSU-GE or
IGETC general education requirements. Find out
the minimum GPA, etc. Visit www.assist.org for
information on articulation agreements and majors.
p After you have applied for admission to a College
or University, request to have the OC Admissions and
Records Office certify on your transcripts the courses
you have completed to satisfy CSU general education
or American Institutions requirements (usually during
your last semester at OC). Paperwork is submitted
when meeting with a counselor.
TRANSFER CENTER SERVICES
The Transfer Center hosts an annual FALL college
fair on campus where over over 40 universities and
colleges usually attend. We also host workshops
on providing information on earning admission to
the UC, CSU, private and out-of-State schools and
colleges; and we will arrange university and college
representatives’ appointments.
