We are always proud to say that “Red & Black” is an event the “every-day-man” can be comfortable selling in or buying at. But “Red & Black” also has seen it’s share of show champions come through its sale rings to add some profile to the sale. We have been very careful, because of learned experience, to not present buyers or seller’s with an elitist attitude towards the sale or ourselves. It is this broad range of cattle annually offered that makes it our “feel good” sale of the year. The 1st generation red factors in our herd are some of the most productive cows we have and Shooter Girl will be no exception. She is solid red and solidly built. She maintains the top and deep sweeping rib typical of the Fleck influence and refined front end from the Red genetics. In studying her pedigree you don’t have to dig very deep to see power-ful donor cows such as TNT Sadie and HAAS Ranch G217 on the red side. Fleckvieh donors DFM Juni, Flossie 51X, Great Guns Toni and Anchor “T” Helga are included on the bottom. Shooter Girls dam is a solid patterned young full Fleck cow that has hit a home run with both her calves as this year’s bull calf will be a feature next spring. ACS Red Shooter has turned into a curve bending sire; his calves have small birth weights and are growthy. His first daughters just finished doing an excellent job raising calves while maintaining perfect udder conformation.

SUNRISE 320ASunrise is a very good, extremely thick, wide based daughter of the great MAF Horizon bull. As I write this we just got home from Brandon where our first Horizon heifer calf created a lot of buzz in the barn! She was a Little Lady finalist, showed her way to Calf Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Female and then became the high selling female at the National Trust Sale. Sunrise is similar to that heifer with her great hair coat, performance and style! She may not be as pretty but she will be a brood cow who will make you some bulls. Her good Jalapeno dam has put every calf in a sale or back into our herd – she is a high volumed, great uddered cow who produces. We would expect nothing less from Sunrise. There has been a lot of buzz created by the Horizon calves and for good reason, they are outstanding! We believe Horizon will go on to be one of those “can’t miss” sires for years to come.
