APPLICATIONS
OFFICE BUILDING entryways, enclosed
walkways and perimeter heat with vari
able air volume systems.
INSTITUTIONAL classrooms, cafeterias
and swimming pool areas.
HOSPITAL hydrotherapy, nurseries, burn
and trauma areas.
RESIDENTIAL bathrooms, above floor to
ceiling windows and sliding doors, other
cold spot areas.
For complete or supplemental heating in
commercial, residential and institutional
structures - in new or remodeled con
struction ... whenever the utility and
comfort of radiant ceiling heating is
desired.
Clean, gentle, comfortable heat that is
ideal for offsetting perimeter heat loss ...
saving substantial energy over other sys
tems by heating people and objects
rather than all the air in a room or build
ing.
People are comfortable at lower room
temperatures with a radiant system than
with convection or forced-air systems ...
comfortable in the 60's rather than in the
70's. And lower thermostat settings save
on energy bills each year.
A simple system, easy to install, easy to
control room by room without wasting
energy needlessly heating unoccupied
spaces.
Trans Energy panels allow full usage of
wall and floor space. No noise. No mov
ing parts. No maintenance. No ceiling,
walls or drapes to clean. No dried out air.

CRYSTALLINE SURFACE - Trans Energy's unique crystalline surface greatly enhances the radiant characteristics of the heating panel.
Trans Energy's radiant output is in the 8-10 micron wavelength, This is ideal for comfort, Human skin will absorb 99% of the radiant energy in these wavelengths. Humans them selves radiate heat predominately in that micron range, Without Trans Energy's crystalline surface a panel will be less radiant, operate at higher temperature and produce energy at shorter wavelengths.
WIRE: Internal - 200°C, 14 Gauge, Teflon insulated. Exlernal - Pig Tails with 48" of 1/2" flexible conduit and connector for J-Box.
ELEMENT: Graphite based, uniform temperature distribution over entire panel suriace.
INSULATION: Minimum 1 inch, 1 pound density, high temperature fiberglass.
SURFACE: All ceiling and wall mounted radiant panels are coated with radiant unique crystalline suriace,
ELEMENT - Our graphite based heating element assures uniform temperatures and long life. Trans Energy has been using graphite heating elements since 1969 and has proven their superior reliability,
WIRING: For connection to the main power supply, the heater is completely prewired, with the lead wires housed in a 48-inch length of flexible metal conduit and connector for J-80x mounting . Appropriate wiring diagrams appear on the back of the panel.

3. TEGULAR (Revealed edge) Tegular systems may utilize a standard grid
with a one-inch cross-T or a "fine-line" grid
with a 5/8" cross-To The acoustical tile is
notched to hang below the grid creating the
revealed edge. Our Tegular panels are
built with a support angle on all four sides to allow the panel front to drop flush with
the finished ceiling .

4. CONCEALED SPLINE SYSTEMS
These systems utilize ceiling tiles notched
to hide the T-bar grid. Our panels will be
treated in a manner similar to the lights in
such a system. We will build a custom
recessed frame and panel to fit inside the
grid opening. The recessed frame will be
suspended independently of the T-bar grid. The result is a flush-mounted panel with an
exposed trim finishing off the adjacent tiles
and supporting the panel.
5. SILKSCREENING Radiant heating panels can be silkscreened
to provide an architectural blend with lead
ing acoustical files. For T-bar, concealed spline and tegular ceiling systems.
6. CUSTOM COLOR Panels can be painted an color desired with high temperature acrylic paints without
affecting panel performance.
Radiant energy is emitted from panels in
the 8-10 micron wavelength range. One of
the principal characteristics of this wave
length is that it is not color selective as are
shorter wavelengths. Consequently, the
surface color of the panel is unimportant to
heating efficiency and can be considered
solely in the light of aesthetics.
7. PANEL FRONTS FOR A CONTINUOUS CEILING LINE
To provide a continuous ceiling line around
the perimeter of a building, the factory can provide panel fronts to be interspersed
between the functioning heating panels. Field-trimmable filler panels also are avail
able.
8. SEAL TIGHT FLEXIBLE CONDUIT and CONNECTORS
Ceiling panels come with 1/2" Greenfield
flexible conduit and straight connectors as
standard equipment. Seal tight connectors
and conduit can be substituted at the facto
ry if panels are to be used in high moisture
areas or if required by local electrical
codes.
9. FACTORY SILICONE SEALED PANELS FOR USE IN HIGH MOISTURE
AREAS - Exterior moisture and condensa
tion do not affect panel performance, but
water inside the unit can cause the panel to
fail. Panels being used in shower rooms
and swimming pool areas should be totally
sealed with silicone at the factory before shipment. If there is a chance of moisture
above the ceiling, then seal tight conduit
and seal tight connectors also should be
used .
10. LONGER FLEXIBLE CONDUIT We will replace the standard 48" Greenfield
with up to 11 ' of 1/2" flexible conduit.
11. CONTROLS PIE switches are available factory prewired
to heaters. 20 amps @ 120V, 208V, 240V
and 277V.
12. EARTHQUAKE CLIPS If T-bar panels are to be suspended, the
factory can supply Earthquake clips with a hole for support chains.
13. HEAVIER DUTY PANELS For special installations the factory can use heavier gauge steel in the construction of
the panels.
14. STAINLESS STEEL CONSTRUCTION
PANELS FOR CHLORINE STORAGE AREAS - Special stainless steel panels are
available for chlorine storage areas.
Panels will be equipped with seal tight con
nectors and silicone sealed.
15. MODULAR WIRING SYSTEMS For specific jobs, the factory can substitute
modular connectors for the straight con
nectors and pig tails that are standard
equipment.

HPRH SERIES INFRARED HEATER, FOR BURN AND TRAUMA PATIENTS
• RECESS CEILING MOUNTED • WALL MOUNTED HEAT DECK CONTROL PANEL
• PATIENT LEVEL SENSOR PROBE
Hypothermia is a primary concern when
treating burn and trauma patients.
The HPRH radiant heating system provides gentle warmth to the patient without affecting the surrounding area
temperatu res.
A heat deck is recess mounted in the ceiling above the patient's bed, out of
the way until it is needed.
Operated from a wall-mounted con
trol panel, the heat deck is easily
lowered and raised.
The heat deck's three radiant heating panels are energized from the
control panel either individually, or in combination, to provide heat to the
patient's head, torso, or lower
extremities.
With a temperature probe located at
patient level, the solid state tempera
ture controller is manually set to the desired temperature and then auto
matically regulated.

INDIVIDUAL ROOM CONTROL - The finite control available with electric heat permits individual room or zone control for greater economy; why heat the entire house when you are using only one or two rooms? This applies equally well for whole house heating or supplemental heating. COMFORT AT LOWER TEMPERATURES -In non-radiant types of heating systems, it is necessary to warm and circulate air in order to keep the temperature in a room at a comfortable level. The warmer air, in turn, warms the furniture and people in the room. With radiant heating, furniture and people are heated directly. The surrounding air eventually becomes warm, but the comfort level is not dependent upon the air temperature. Room temperature can be lowered 3 to 5 degrees while still maintaining the same comfort level. Furniture, walls, floors, etc., absorb some of the energy and act as a heat bank, releasing some of the warmth back into the room during the "off' period of the normal "on-off' cycle of the cove heaters . HIGH EFFICIENCY RADIATING SURFACEThe extruded aluminum front panel is coated with a lifetime vitreous enamel which has one of the highest levels for radiating heat energy of any known substance, radiating a majority of its heat energy from the front surface. The remaining energy is "wiped off" the element and back frame by a convection flow behind and over the top of the heater which circulates warm air into the room , under furniture, etc. COLOR COORDINATED - Heaters are an offwhite color to compliment any interior wall design. CONVENIENT WALL MOUNTING - NEAR CEILING - The MCH cove heater mounts on any wall surface, near the ceiling where its dual function heating can be fully utilized. Radiant heat energy is directed downward, warming people and objects near the floor, as well as the floor itself. Room air gains heat from these objects and rises toward the ceiling. The back side of the cove heater acts as a convector heater, pulling the cooler air from the floor area, behind and over the heater, thus helping to circulate and mix the air in the room until it reaches an equilibrium temperature. The outof-the -way mounting also permits complete freedom of furniture placement in a room, because the heaters will not be subjected to blockage, which reduces the efficiency of floor or low-wall-mounted heaters.
