Starting Adjacency optimization (2/2)

Select the adjacency types to be loaded

For bidirectional optimization both ADJW and ADJG are required if inter-system adjacencies are needed

With multiple 3G carriers ADJI can be selected

Select only ADCE if the target is GSM only

Rules

Optimizer rules can be used to fill missing bidirectional and same site adjacencies and mandatory constraints

Mandatory constraint should always have an adjacency

Forbidden constraint should NOT have an adjacency

Same site cells should always have mutual adjacencies

All adjacencies should be bidirectional

One rule is used to delete existing adjacencies with forbidden constraint

Resulting correction plan can be used also for distance-based creation

Common Parameters

Create bidirectionality is recommended

• Both ADJW and ADJG types need to be in the scope for this

Changes should be enabled between the scope and buffer area

Minimum and maximum adjacency list lengths can be modified

In GSM optimization the user can

define band-specific list length

limitations

Go to Creation parameters

Creation Parameters

Open parameters For All Adjacency Types and select options

Enable creation for each adjacency type separately

• Initial selection of types limits the available choices here

Adjacency type specific creation parameters

• Distance and relative antenna angle

Common Creation Parameters

Options related to types that are not loaded are inactive

Allowed Collisions in Creation

In typical Adjacency optimization plan NO collisions are allowed

• Existing collisions prevent creation of the same type adjacencies for the cell -> Allow collisions to create new adjacencies

Adjacency Creation Parameters

For ADJS, ADJG and ADJI select only one plan based on distance and specify

• distance between the sites

• relative angle of antennas (see next slide)

Distances and angles can be different for each type

Theta Angle

Angle measurement starts from the line connecting the sites

Measurement always to shortest route

Theta angle: q = a + b

Creation Priority

Adjacencies to be created or deleted are in the order of importance based on the distance and theta angle

Distance and theta angle can be adjusted for the next round of optimization

Manually created adjacencies in the same plan are included in this list

Saving Results

Save your results to a plan

Data is saved to the plan that was originally open when the Adjacency optimization tool was started

If no plan was open in Adjacency optimization startup (Actual Context) then a new plan must be created by pressing the Save button
