The fourth full fiscal year of the OSHA Education Center at UT Arlington is complete, and it was a year of significant milestones The UT Arlington OSHA Education Center set an all-time record, training 5,918 students in 452 OSHA courses We want to thank you all for choos-ing our OSHA Education Center The graphs below illustrate the significant increases in the number of students trained in OSHA courses over time by the UTA Education Center and the location distribution of those courses

The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) program of the Division for Enterprise Development (DED) also trained over 1,100 students in other Safety and Health related courses, and the New Environmental Training Institute (ETI) trained over 250 students in its first full debut year In summary, the DED EHS Program trained over 7,000 students in total in FY12!

Please note that we have modified the catalog this year to include the course dates and times for all of the courses in an easy reference section in the front You will also notice a significant increase in the variety and depth of the environmental course offerings in this catalog, with nearly double the number of environmental science and environmental management course offerings For the many who have expressed interest in increasing their knowledge of the rapidly growing, challenging, and fast-changing environmental field we have also put in place new environmental certification programs that are debuting in this catalog to complement our popular safety certification programs Please see pages 14, 15, 28, and 29 for full details

We are proud of the professional education service we provide, and the fact that we are a public service organization totally supported by your student registration fees We know you have a choice in seeking professional Environmental, Health and Safety training, and we are pleased to be the choice for so many of you Please do not hesitate to contact me with any suggestions on how we can make the EHS Training Program at UTA even better for you

Thank You!

Compliance with complex national and state environ-mental regulations is a major concern for business, industry, and government. Environmental profes-sionals need relevant training on environmental law, regulations, and practices. As proven by the similar model utilized by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), outreach training programs exponentially multiply the impact of a strong train-the-trainer program. Through the new EPA Outreach Training Program, UTA replicates the successful OSHA Outreach model by providing training and sub-sequent authorization for trainers to conduct approved worker training. Upon successful completion, UTA is-sues wallet cards for worker training participants. Our 32-hour EPA Outreach Trainer Course is specifically designed for personnel interested in teaching the EPA 8-hour Environmental Hazard Awareness class, which focuses on training entry-level workers about environ-mental hazards in the workplace.
