The significant moments in the trailer are when the brother comes out of the mental institution; when the brother and sister make the video about he mirror and when the dad comes back.

These moments are shown so that the audience understands what happens in the story.

The trailer uses significant dialogue from key scenes to identify the narrative. When the girl says ‘we have to keep our promise’ and ‘this mirror has killed 40 people in the last 4 decades’ this is telling the audience that they have to solve the mystery about the mirror and have to stop anymore killings from happening.

There are high angles and low angles used. At one point the camera is hand held. This is to show unsteadiness of the scene.

The films genre is drama. I know it is a drama as it exhibits a real life situation with realistic settings. The purpose of the story line is to move the audience emotionally.

The main female character is carrying an oxygen tank with a tube going into her nostrils, indicating that she needed help breathing. The film was set in various places, like in hospitals, on the bus, in restaurants etc to make the film seem as realistic as possible. The music that plays in the background in the beginning of the trailer sounds optimistic, then the music changes and starts to sound pessimistic

The typography in the trailer is in capital letters and is in a hand written font. This links to the codes and conventions as it emphasizes that the story is realistic.
