TRAFFIC WEEK PROJECT

Traffic week is considered as one of the highly important annual events that raises

awareness regarding road safety and public wealth. We are honored to be part of

such campaign, contributing to the awareness raised for people’s wellbeing and

security. As part of this awareness event, we have designed a make-believe city

that will allow for not just adults but also targets kids to participate in this event and

educating them more about traffic week, road and public safety and people’s

wealth.

BENEFITS Being part of an educational experience and learning through inter-

active tools and strategies allows the kid to stay focused and absorb

the information he is receiving

Through this city and the activities assigned for the traffic week

event, kids will get the opportunity to blend in a functioning society,

which will open their eyes to real life experience of public liability and

safety importance, developing their sense of responsibility, all the while

the parents enjoy their tours around the city visiting sponsors and

exhibitors.

Riding around the city, kids will encounter a number of signs and

informative tips about the significance of road safety measurements

and obeying the driving law of Qatar.

THE CONCEPTThis event aims to provide kids and parents a safe and realistic educational environment allowing kids to par-

ticipate through this educational experience through offering them a chance to drive around a make believe city.

The venue consists of a huge city constructed according to children scale equipped with buildings, one way

streets, large sidewalks, corner, cars and vehicles, etc… moreover, exhibitors will be displaying their serices

or products at booths designed to look like shops in buildings by the road.

This section is a detailed anatomy of the event venue

and the activities that will be taking places, it includes:

GATE & REGISTRATION COUNTER

Two gates at the venue, one for the entrance and

another for the exit, entering the Venue, a registration

counter is placed in order to grant visitors access

permit.

A queue line to keep order at the entrance will

lead the visitors to a large banner welcoming them to

the city, where kids will get measured and ensured to

meet the right specifications to drive the electrical

vehicles.

Display of Traffic police cars

After the entrance there will be a dis-

play of Traffic Police Cars, there childrens

can have a closer look of the car and setup

and latest technologies that traffic police

using, and also they will get chance have a

nice talk with officers.

STREETS & SIDEWALKSThe streets will be designed to fit one car at a time

making it a one direction route, with large sidewalks on

each side of the road with 4 to 5 meter in large.

Those roads will be surrounded by shops shaped

exhibitors stands and booths where parents get to

roam around checking their services and products

while their kids are riding their vehicles.

EXHIBITORSThe plan is to create a realistic city with buildings, shops and functioning economy, therefore, there will be build-

ings and establishments constructed on a child scale where exhibitors will design and use as their stands and

booths to display their products or discuss their services with potential customers.

ELECTRICAL VEHICLESThe plan is to make this event as entertaining and educational as possible, therefore a number of electrical vehi-

cles will be provided for children to ride it and take a tour around the make believe city passing through a number

of informative tips about road safety and public responsibility.

Those vehicles are made to be especially compatible to a child’s ability and potential, ensuring safety and enter-

tainment at the same time.

A section in the city will be used as a studio for live

broadcasting and interviews with exhibitors and visi-

tors, covered by a selected channel or radio station.

Another section will be dedicated for the press confer-

ences in case of an agreement of collaboration were

to happen such as an exhibitor decided to collaborate

with the civil defense department, this primary agree-

ment will be witnessed by visitors and covered by the

local media.

PARKThe city contains a park where bike lovers get to

ride on bicycle around the area allowing parents

to enjoy their time all the while watching over their

children who are driving their cars.

MAZEOnce the children reach the end of their ride, a maze will be placed for them and their parents to enter, where

they encounter an educational information and tips about road safety and the consequences of disobeying the law.

MAZE_Room 1

• Entering the first room, visitors will be handed an Ipad.

• Participants will have to aim the ipad to the wall, which will cause messages to appear on the screen

• Those messages are sent by Qatar’s traffic department as a mean to raise people’s awareness regarding the

significance of road safety and the liability hey holds towards the public while on the road.

• The technology used in this room is “The Augmented Reality”, it consists of a realistic reflection of an image

proven to have a strong effect on people, teaching them all the while capturing their focus to the message that is

meant to be sent.

MAZE_Room 2• IboothMe

A photo booth will be placed in the 3rd room where people get to record moments of their trip around the maze with

a background of their choice while on the other side Traffic department seizes the opportunity to collect the data-

base of the people who have attended the event

MAZE_Room 3• Illuminated Banner

• The second room will be displaying on

a large illuminated banner the traffic depart-

ment’s logo followed by a number of crucial

messages about road safety and responsible

driving.

• The illuminated banner is a very signifi-

cant tool of convincing the viewers of a mes-

sage, capturing their attention and streering

their focus towards the important message of

caution and carefulness.

MAZE_Room 4• Hologram

Participants will enter the next room where a hologram is

placed. The hologram technology is a 3D object generator that

provides the viewer with a realistic projection resembling a real

person standing right infront of them

The hologram will then speaks, uttering a message re-

garding the traffic week and the crucial value of responsible

driving and caution

MAZE_Room 5

• It takes second to ruin a life

A phone will be placed at a table by the

entrance of the 5th room, once the participant

enter, the phone will ring.

The moment this participant looks at the phone,

a car will come crashing through the screen with

a realisticly horrifying sound effect sppoking the

person in the room.

This technique is highly effective due to its vwey

lifelike portrayal of a car crash, alerting people

of a highly important message; “it takes a

second of distraction, to ruin someone’s life”

MAZE_Room 6

• The souvenir board

Heading towards the Exit, A large wall will be dedicated for particpants to write down messages, suggestions, and

thoughts regarding the maze and the messages displayed.

This board will be a souvenir of the event and the awareness raised during this maze.

The traffic department will be utilizing this board in future events.
