Denitions of traffic calming may vary but they all share thegoals of reducing vehicle speeds, improving neighborhoodsafety, and enhancing quality of life. Traffic calming involveschanges in street alignment, installation of barriers and other

physical measures to reduce traffic speeds and/or cut-throughvolume. The goal of traffic calming is to improve street safety,and neighborhood livability.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW The Traffic Logix original engineered system consists of interlocking rubber units with moldedreective tape. These components can be assembled to create a variety of traffic calmingsolutions including speed humps, speed tables, speed cushions, traffic circles, traffic islandsand street narrowing. The modular system presents unlimited possibilities for differentcongurations and can be installed on asphalt or concrete and as permanent or temporary. Our

newest products, the next generation radar speed signs, offer an additional alternative to calmstreets by making drivers aware of the speed they are driving at. Our line of solutions are idealfor residential roads, school zones, and constructions sites.

SPEED HUMP

Speed humps are raised traffic

calming devices that range inheight from 3 to 4 inches. Theyare parabolic in shape and areplaced across the road to slowtraffic. Speed humps are themost popular traffic calmingmeasure in the United Statestoday. A speed hump willtypically slow traffic in a moregradual manner than speedbumps, although less so thanspeed tables.

SPEED TABLE

Speed tables are raised

traffic calming devices thatare 3 inches high and at-topped. This design facilitatesa smoother ride and cantherefore be driven over ata higher speed than speedhumps. Speed tables are usedwhen less drastic vehicleslowing is desired.

TRAFFIC CIRCLE

Superex CurbThe SuperFlex Curb is made with virgin

rubber. This allows for greater exibility tocreate any size and shape of island, traffic

circle, or curb extension that is needed. The molded bright reective tape

ensures visibility for motorists as well aspedestrians. Each SuperFlex curb unit is

39 in lengths.

Traffic circles are raised islands placed in intersections to slow cars down by forcing them to drive around a

circle, thus reducing vehicle speed. Traffic Logix SuperFlex curbing can be used to create traffic circles. It canalso be used to create curb extensions/medians, roundabouts, chicanes, and neckdowns

Speed cushions are the latest available traffic calmingdevice, and perhaps the most innovative. Speed cushions

have several distinct advantages. Designed as small speedhumps, speed cushions compel residential vehicles to reducetheir speed. Emergency response vehicles can straddle thecushions, however, due to their wider axle, thereby drivingover the cushions without signicantly affecting responsetime. In addition, speed cushions are more affordable thanspeed humps or tables since they require less material.

Create your own solutions by utilizingour modular components:

Each unit has a footprint dimension of 18 x 42 (1.5 ft. x 3.5 ft.)and has six mounting holes for lag bolts measuring 3/8 dia., 4long that are installed with a steel washer and a plastic shield. Theplastic shield requires a 9/16 dia. hole in the installation surface.For details see installation section.


Striping is available in square or arrow patternsand in yellow, white or black (no tape)

INSTALLATION OVERVIEW

Traffic Logix products are simple to install. They are secured withanchors and bolts and can therefore be removed and relocated toan alternate street when needed. This feature is benecial when

a municipality would like to test a street or the product. Smallpanel size results in easier installation, less complicated removal,and more convenient storage. Panels do not require skilled laborto install, which produces greater savings for municipalities. Theinstallation process is also designed to always allow one laneof the road to be open, thereby avoiding unnecessary streetclosures. The Traffic Logix system can be expanded to t anyroadway, and requires very little maintenance

LANE SEPARATORS

Lane separators distinguish between lanes or types of traffic such as cars, buses, bikes, or pedestrians. They are often placed in residential areas with wide roadways and multiple approach lanes. Laneseparators compel approaching traffic to slow down in order to determine the appropriate lane, withthe added benet of calming traffic as motorists slow down.
