PROJECT DESCRIPTION

ITR Direct is a China focused, web based, E-procurement platform designed to integrate directly with a companies internal pur-

chasing and approval workflow and simplifying the IT procurement process. Essentials features such as organizational and func-

tional groups, multi-tiered purchasing approvals, inventory tracking, company specific catalogues, and API for ERP integration.

Currently it serves many MNCs in China as an integral part in their purchasing process.

MY ROLE

When I started with IT Resources two previous attempts had been made to create an E-procurement platform yet both had failed

before getting very far into development. When I took over the project I began by going back to the core of what ITR Direct was

designed to be. I considered the goal of the project and why previous versions had failed. From there I produced detailed project

documentation outlining both the technical aspects of the project as well as how it was meant to integrate with customer and

internal workflows. I also met with potential clients to better understand their IT procurement needs. With the documentation

complecomplete, I worked with a small team to search for a reliable partner to help build ITR Direct. During the development cycle I

worked closely with this chosen partner to insure their requirements were being met. I also began outlining key internal proces-

ses for tasks including catalog maintenance, order processing, and pricing. As the release date approached, I managed the pro-

cess on internalizing development and growing the operations team from 1 to 5 members. We prepared marketing material and

created an introductory video in both English and Chinese. I also managed the testing process and sales team education. After

the initial release of the product, I worked closely with the sales team to get clients full integrated with the system all the while

evaluating customer feedback and implementing new features. Once the platform was launched and all processes were in place,

I passed day-to-day management to an operations manager while remaining connected to the project as Technical Director.

MY CONTRIBUTIONS

• Defined technical specifications.

• Managed development process.

• Built ITR Direct team.

• Defined key UX functionality.

• Established key internal processes.

• Served as chief product advocate.

• Managed creation of initial marketing deliverables.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Puluo is a China focused fitness app allowing gyms, trainers, and other sports facilities to sell extra room in classes on a one off

basis. The app integrates class browsing, booking, as well as social aspects including user profiles and chat.

MY ROLE

This was mThis was my first large project using Angular JS and the Ionic frameworks. Kotebo was hired to create an app that integrated with

the still under development Puluo backend API. The app coding and structure was done by myself with integration and graphic

design support from the Kotebo team.

KEY CONTRIBUTIONS

• Designed app structure and coded all functionality.

• Worked very closely with Puluo team to design the API.

• Created web application version for Puluo WeChat channel.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

AWM takes over where WeChat leaves off. It allows for the development and management of unique user interactions and em-

powers social managers with in-depth details into their users’ activities and participation. It is a key tool in bridging the gap

between mobile, online, and the real world. Currently supports many channels including 10,000+ fans.

MY ROLE

In 2013, at Kotebo our clients have had a common question “What can you do for us with Wechat?”. This is understandable consi-

dering since Tancent opened WeChat’s API last year creative uses for this technology have been popping up all over China. After

creating several one off solutions for clients earlier this year I decided that what our clients really needed was a modular plat-

form that could be plugged directly into the WeChat API and allow for rapid deployment of new creative solutions as well as

easy management and reporting for their unique user interactions. It was with this need in mind that AWM was created. AWM is

written using PHP, JS, Bootstrap 3 and MySQL on an MVC framework. It is designed to be module so each customer need only

have their relevant functionality installed. The system is composed of two key services that use the same database. The first ser-

vice is the WeChat interface which facilitates the connection to WeChat, sending and receiving of messages, parsing of incoming

messages, as well as management of users’ step location.

The second service, the Management Service contains the AWM platform and allows the users to modify responses, view user

data, change key settings, and control their installed modules. Currently these service run on the same server but can be scaled

out to meet a high volume of demand. Most of the initial backend coding for the first two versions I wrote myself but have invol-

ved several Kotebo team members in creating the new UI for version 2 as well as several critical new features.

MY CONTRIBUTIONS

• Created customer modules and web applications including lucky draw, location based ordering, social gallery, device remote

amongst others.

• Designed sales ma• Designed sales material and integration process.

• Created customer specific modules and customizations.

• Created AWM deployment processes.

• Set development standards.

• Build AWM development team.
