As a point of interest, on my RV trip tlu'ough Washington and Oregon I have asked a few people about RVing on Vancouver Island. Three (2 Americans, 1 Canadian) have told me that they used to come to Vancouver Island every summer but don't anymore because of the very high ferry costs. One told me that the three hundred dollars each way for his 5th wheel covers his fuel and RV park costs all the way to California. I personally only tow my trailer across on the Sidney/Annacortes ferry at half the cost or the Black Ball to Port Angeles at 30% less than BC Ferries. No wonder our tourism is suffering.
