Introduction

India is the preferred destination of the Multi-Nationals from all over the world. This is due to the fact

that there is abundance of manpower available at globally competitive rates. The Information &

Communication Technology has permeated the remotest area of our country and has significantly

contributed to the development of the Urban, semi-urban and rural areas.

Knowledge is a key resource for sustained profitable growth. Intellectual Capital has to be nourished and

developed in order to establish a long term existence. India has been identified as the most potential

source of supply of educated and skilled manpower. Indian Education System has quite a few

bottlenecks in terms of infrastructure and resources. A Parallel stream of learning needs to be created to

capitalize on the opportunity that exists at the bottom of the Pyramid itself, which is not only large but

also neglected.

Demand for Tally Trained Resources

Computer Penetration in Business Segments of India

Skill is more important than Degrees

-Dr. Prem Vrat, Prev. Director IIT Roorkee

India has approx. 5.76 crore enterprises (Refer. Annexure-II). In the year 2008-09 more than 65 lakh desktops and notepads computers were sold in India. Of these, more than 66% (42 Lakhs) have been procured by business houses. Most of the business houses procuring computers for the first time need to computerize their Accounts

and business processes. Tally.ERP 9 has more than 95% of the market share and this is likely to increase

the sale of Tally.ERP 9 Licenses.

Page 8: Tr

Page 7

On an average Tally Solutions Private Limited add nearly 1000-2000 new customers every day. These

business houses would require atleast 2 Tally.ERP 9 operators, thereby generating the new job

opportunities for 2000-4000 individuals daily.

Establishment of New Businesses

The increased focus of FDI & FII in Indian Market has created avenues for Small & Medium Business Segment to establish ancillary units and provide services to these global Multi Nationals. The rapid pace at which the training industry is developing due to the skill development initiatives of the Government of India in a collaborative mode with countries like Germany and Switzerland also is creating additional employment opportunities in the BPO/KPO segment.

Expansion of Existing Businesses

Existing customers who wish to expand their businesses would require additional computer assistants to operate on Tally.ERP 9. This is expected to create more than 2 lakh employment opportunities year on year.

Statutory Compliances

All States have made it mandatory for the business houses to file their VAT returns on a monthly basis. All business houses needs to maintain their accounting records and furnish the same on demand. Other statutory compliances like Service Tax, TDS, and employee related Taxes like PF, ESI PT also need to be adhered to by the business houses. Tally.ERP 9 has been developed to address the compliance requirements of all the States of the Country.

Page 9: Tr

Page 8

Most of the states are now insisting on E-filing of Statutory Returns, as a result computerization of accounts becomes inevitable to adhere to the compliance timelines. Approximately there are more than 50 lakh VAT Registered Businesses across India. This is also expected to increase the demand for Tally trained resources

Attrition

The prevailing attrition rate in the finance and accounting domain across different verticals of the Industries ranges between 18% and 22%. This is also expected to add to the demand for Tally trained professionals on a perpetual basis

Entrepreneurship Opportunities

Several Conventional Small Businesses do not prefer investing in IT infrastructure due to lack of IT knowledge and lack of exposure to compliance regulations. They prefer to outsource their book-keeping and maintenance of accounts to professional practitioners. Independent Consultants cater to the needs of such Businesses. Tally.ERP 9 training empowers individuals having the entrepreneurial aptitude to foster their dreams of becoming first generation entrepreneurs, by maintaining books of accounts of such businesses. An investment of Rs. 65,000 (Cost of Hardware and Software) would enable an individual to start his own consulting Service to small businesses, and thereby help them comply with regulations and also computerize their accounting and inventory maintenance. Additionally, these individual entrepreneurs could acquire Tally programming skills by undergoing training on Tally Technologies Program, in order to effect minor customizations in Tally.ERP 9 on a chargeable basis for addressing the varied needs of small businesses across different industry verticals.

Projected growth in Finance and Accounts Domain

Individual Research readings NASSCOM has projected 1.1 million professionals to be employed by coming few years in the accounting and finance sector. Research findings predict outsourcing of 2 million financial service sector jobs by next year. According to Technopak modern retail / retail services sector has potential of creating over 2 million new jobs.
