Payment Philosophy
•A rate of $168K per annum is generous for an experienced auditor
•A rate of $120K per annum is more than generous for a 9.00-5.00 job!

Manday Rate
• Provisional Auditors - $440
• Auditors - $550
• Lead Auditors - $660
• Senior Lead Auditors - $770
• Audit Team Leaders - $770.

Part Mandays
• half day audits attract half of the rate
• where an hourly rate is charged – the rate will be $82.50 per hour.

Expenses Philosophy
•Not an income stream – only out of pocket expenses to do the job
•Auditor commitment - one hour travel to and from work (the client)
•Provide own lunch & live normally
•No admin fee added!

Expenses Are Hated!
•Don’t under-estimate how much expenses are despised by clients
•Often considered worse than auditing fees, particularly if they are unreasonable
• If no expenses, auditor has a greater chance of retaining that client.

Capital City Travel
• covers expenses for car, including fuel, tolls, parking & temporary sites
• Ade, Per, Can, Dar & Hob = $38.50
• Syd, Mel & Bri = $55.00
• per manday per auditor’s car
• doesn’t apply if car not used.

Regional Travel
• also covers expenses for car, including fuel, tolls, parking & temporary sites
• travel outside the Capital City boundaries
• 77 cents per km (higher than ATO rate)
• for the auditor’s car only
• a hire car may be used in lieu.

Hire Cars & Taxis
If an auditor uses a hire car, taxis, trains or trams, there is no Capital City Travel or
Regional Travel (per km) reimbursement!
TQCSI Auditor Training
Travel Time
• reimburses auditors for lost wages (ie travel during business hours)
• $55 per hour (less than the auditor’s commitment each way)
• applicable to Regional Travel only
• does not include travel time deducted from audit time.

Flight Time
• also reimburses auditors for lost wages (ie flights during business hours)
• duration of flight plus one hour
• $55 per hour
• not reimbursed for flight delays.

Travel & Flight Time
• can be negotiated between GM and the auditor prior to the audit
• can easily make TQCSI uncompetitive
• no concurrent Travel Time & Flight Time!

Meals & Incidentals
• if overnight accommodation, breakfast and dinner at cost
• groceries at cost in lieu of meals
• no lunches, alcohol, snacks & mini bars
• taxis fares at cost.

General
• Office must approve and arrange flights, accommodation & hire cars
• economy class flights
• 3 or 4 star accommodation.

Claims
• TQCSIF-329 is to be forwarded with the Invoice and Audit Report to the Office
• invoices settled 30 days after receipt
• once invoices are sent to the client – no further expenses can be claimed
• copies of receipts to Office with Auditor Notes.

Cancelled Audits
• may be 50% if within 14 days and 100% if within 2 days (Rules of Certification)
• auditors may get all cancellations fees up to expected income
• auditors paid within 30 days of invoice
• GM may negotiate cancellation fees with auditors to save the client!
