[email protected] 2017 Winter Meeting-March 6-10, Charleston, South Carolina The Toxic Tort and Environmental Law Section is busy planning for a fun and informative winter meeting this coming March in Charleston, South Carolina. Section member Bill Koska will lead a panel discussion titled, “A TSUNAMI OF RISING WATER LITIGATION.” The presentation focuses on current and future water litigation, including water contamination, defenses to contamination claims including scientific (Daubert) challenges, and safe harbor legislation that exists in a few states, water rights, and how the climate change debate may impact these cases. It will include tips for corporate counsel to avoid or minimize litigation risks, and ideas and defenses for trial lawyers defending them. Kurt Reeg will be hosting a dinner on the dine around night for members of the section at a location TBD. Please let Kurt know if you plan to attend by January 6, 2017, so plans can be made to accommodate all members who would like to attend, and ensure we are able to experience some of the best dining Charleston has to offer.
