Town of LaGrange December 2014 Newsletter Minutes of the Regular Meeting, Town of LaGrange, Wyoming, meeting at the Town Hall on November 13th 2014 at 7:00pm. Present were Mayor Mark Marshall, Councilman Joel Tremain, John Beightol and Cameron McCoy. Town Clerk Cathy Stoddard and Public Works Director Tracy Pragnell were also present. Councilman Mike Huseby and Attorney Ed Buchanan were absent. There were no visitors attending. Mayor Marshall called the meeting to order at 7:07pm. Cameron moved to approve the minutes as read. Joel seconded, motion carried. Mayor Marshall asked for old business. Tracy gave an update on the sewer project. He explained the new bid package will go out to be advertised in Cheyenne, Casper and possibly Scottsbluff the beginning of December. This will allow 60 days or so before bid opening the end of January. LHS updates were given. Brandy Evans provided a fundraising letter for assistance to the LHS building to be proofed by the council. Joel moved to approve the letter and purchase stamps for the fundraiser mailings, Cameron seconded, motion carried. Mayor Marshall tabled the third reading of Ordinance #59 An Ordinance relating to sewer bonds. John moved to approve the second reading of Ordinance #60 An ordinance repealing town code title 5 and adopting the uniform act regulating traffic on highways. Cameron seconded, motion carried. Mayor Marshall asked for new business. Cameron moved to approve the first reading of Ordinance #61 An ordinance repealing town code title 6. Joel seconded, motion carried. Town Code Book Title 7 will be discussed at the next scheduled council meeting. Clerk and Public Works questions were discussed. Cameron moved to accept the water tower contracts and to proceed with allocating State Land & Investment consensus funds for any overages to the project. Joel seconded, motion carried. Cameron moved to add Deb Dunn, Eric Boyer & Lorraine Werner from Torrington USDA to the signature card for the sewer project checking account. John seconded, Joel abstained, motion carried. Joel moved to pay the bills, Cameron seconded, motion carried. John moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:04pm. Open Computer Lab

There is a $30.00 per semester fee (Jan. 9-April 30,

2015) for the use of the EWC Computer Center at the

LaGrange Heritage Square. The Computer Center is

currently open Mon-Fri 7:00am-2:00pm and upon re-

quest.

Contact Robin Boyd at 307-834-9378 for more information Use

up-to-date technology & software as well as internet access in the

EWC Community Education Computer Center . The center is

available for use by any community member. You do not need to

be enrolled in a college class. Anyone under the age of 12 must

be accompanied by an adult.

Concert at Frontier School of the

Bible Friday, December 12th,

7:00pm at the FSB Chapel. Frontier School of the Bible cordially invites the

LaGrange community to attend a special evening of

drama, vocal and instrumental music in celebration

of the Christmas Season.

Following the concert, everyone is invited to a time

of fellowship and refreshments in the

FSB Dining Hall.

The LaGrange Homemakers Club

is having their Christmas Family Dinner on Dec. 14th, 1:00pm at Bonnie Patterson’s home.

We would like to invite anyone interested in

learning to do tatting, knitting, quilting,

canning, make fudge, peanut brittle, caramels, or cooking and baking from scratch to call

Bonnie Patterson at 834-2429 to find out about their meetings. They meet on the 3rd Weds of

every month at 1:30pm. Come join this talented group of women and

share in the fun!

VETERANS' DAY MAKE-UP DINNER: On December 8, 2014, the day after Pearl Harbor Day, all service Veterans and their families are invited to dinner at 6 PM at the War Memorial Community Building in LaGrange. The event will be sponsored by the John A. McGill American

Legion Post 70 and Auxiliary Unit 70. Meat and potatoes will be provided. Guests are asked to bring either a salad or a dessert. A silent auction will be held to support Year-Round Christmas at the Veterans’ Hospital. Please bring an item to be auctioned and money to buy auction items. If possible, please RSVP to Cheryl Grandstaff by December 5 at 834-2459.Thanks! We hope to see you there!

LaGrange Elementary News

I will be adding information in each newsletter to keep you updated on the accomplishments and adventures of our future! If you have any information to add please feel free to let me know before the 20th of each month. Also, if there are any corrections please let me know! Cathy Stoddard 834-2466

Students went on a fieldtrip to Harvest Home in Lingle on October 16th to pick out pumpkins and enjoy the Corn Maze, the Spider Web, the huge bales and

various other activities.

October 17th was Pumpkin Activity Day at LaGrange Elementary. Each student had a parent/ partner and did measuring, weighing, counting of seeds and carving of their pumpkins. Following the activities a pizza party was enjoyed by all.

The carved pumpkins were then taken to the LaGrange Post Office and the Longhorn Grocery to be voted on by the community. The results of the winners for each category are posted at each location.

On November 20th Staff/Students and a parent for each student went on the annual Barnes and Noble Book Buying Trip. Each student received a $50 coupon to purchase books with their partner for the school library. Each student also received a SURPRISE certificate to purchase a book of their very own!!
