RECYCLING • Recycling is collected every OTHER week on the same day as

your trash collection.

• Recycling is single stream, which means you can mix all bottles, cans, paper and cardboard in your 96 gallon green recycling cart.

• See the Service Day Collection Schedule on the back todetermine your collection day.

• It’s very important that the right materials end up in your recyclingcontainers. Please see the list of acceptable recyclables on the nextpage to learn how Kingston residents can use Recycle Often.Recycle Right.sm to improve your recycling efforts.Care and use of your recycle cart:

• Always keep the lid closed to keep rain, snow and animals out.

• Use the handle provided to move the cart. Tilt the cart on itswheels to roll it. Remember that it’s easier to pull the cart uphilland push it downhill.

• Remove your cart as soon as possible after collection.

• Clean your cart periodically by rinsing it with water and letting itdry in the sun with the lid open.

• There are currently no restrictions on street parking on collectiondays. Since automated waste collection requires clearance for thevehicle’s lifting mechanism, any cars parked at the curb should beat least 5 feet from the trash cart.

• The placement of your trash barrel and your recycle cart are veryimportant, since the collection vehicle’s lifting arm requiresclearance: 3 feet on both sides, and 12 feet overhead.
