Authorize the Filing of an Application for a State Assistance from The Household Hazardous Waste(HHW) State Assistance Program.

WHEREAS, the State of New York (hereinafter State) provides reimbursement to local

municipalities for household hazardous waste programs; and

WHEREAS the Town of Southold (hereinafter Town) deems it to be in the public interest andbenefit to file an application for such aid; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary that a Contract between the State and the Town be executed for suchState aid;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT

RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Southold hereby authorizes the following:

1. The immediate filing of an application in the form required by the State in conformitywith applicable State law.

2. That Supervisor Scott A. Russell is directed and authorized to execute the application and toprovide such additional information as may be required and to further execute the resultingContract if said application is approved by the State.

3. That the Town agrees that it will fund the entire cost of said Household HazardousWaste Program and will be reimbursed by the State for the States share of such costs.

4. That five (5) certified copies of this Resolution be prepared and sent to the NYSDepartment of Environmental Conservation together with a complete application.
