IT WAS a dream accomplished on a road least travelled, using motorbikes least thought off, with the least budget and crossing terrain least desirable.That is how three Penangites who straddled humble 125cc motorcycles described their journey from Downing Street in George Town to Downing Street in London.

They announced on their Facebook page that they arrived yesterday at 1.45am Malaysian time (6.45pm in London) after travelling four months, 11 days, eight hours and 45 minutes.





“Total land distance rolled over was 18,290km, burning 365.8 litres of petrol ranging from RON80 to RON96 with a total fuel cost of RM1,825,” the team’s tech man Timothy Wooi added on their facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/Touraride-Downing-St-Penang-to-Downing-St-London-392640874248837/

Including their trips on ferries and passenger ships, however, the team had crossed about 40,000km.





On reaching Europe, the most senior member, Frankie Cheah, 69, returned.Only team captain B.K. Lim, Timothy Wooi and Eric Lim finished the ride.

Two of Lee’s friends in the team decided to return after that, leaving four of them to carry on the journey.
