General InformationORGANISED SHORE EXCURSIONSBooking Direct with Silversea gives you peace of mind. Our local tour operators are fully insured and have beencomprehensively vetted. In the unlikely event of issues with a Silversea tour, we assume responsibility and the ship willwait for our delayed shore excursion. These are important factors when comparing value. Please bear in mind as wetraverse many far reaching destinations, the local infrastructure varies and is beyond our control. Road conditions andvehicles available locally may not be up to standards we are accustomed to. Guides and drivers may speak with a heavyaccent at times depending on the port of call. Be assured however that at Silversea, we contract only the best tours andbest operators available at each destination. Please Note: Silversea reserves the right to make any changes or modify atour in case of unforeseen circumstances and/or to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests.  BOOKING & CANCELLATION DEADLINES Shore Excursions are available on a first-come, first served basis. Guests should note that some shore excursions are verypopular with guests and often ending up being waitlisted. In order to avoid disappointment, it is therefore suggested tobook in advance via my.silversea.com from 180 days until 48 hours prior to sailing. Last-minute requests to participate inexcursions are subject to availability, which in some cases may not be determined until departure time pier-side. Ifchanges or cancellations are required once onboard, tickets must be returned to the Shore Concierge Desk within thecancellation deadline. Tickets returned after the cancellation deadline will be charged 100% cancellation fee to theguest’s onboard account.Cancellation deadlines for the majority of our shore excursions is 48hrs prior to the port of call. Please note that certainshore excursions might have a different cancellation deadline; all cancellation deadlines are stated in the please notesection of the shore excursion, booking form and shore excursion tickets.

ONLINE ADVANCE RESERVATION OF SHORE EXCURSIONSSilversea operates an online reservation option, allowing guests to reserve their shore excursions at leisure prior to theircruise. In order to access this, please log on to MySilversea (my.silversea.com) up to 48 hours prior to your sail date. If youhave reserved your shore excursion online, you will receive further information upon embarkation onboard.

SHORE EXCURSION DEPARTURES TIMESDeparture times are published in the ship’s daily newspaper, the Silversea Chronicles and on shore excursion tickets.When the ship is at anchor, guests must allow additional time to tender ashore. Silversea Cruises reserves the right toadjust itineraries and shore excursion departures as local conditions dictate.

ON BOARD RESERVATIONSYou may also reserve and purchase your shore excursions. You will find a shore excursion booking form in your suite andat the Shore Concierge desk. Select the shore excursions in which you wish to participate, then leave the completed andsigned form at the Shore Concierge desk prior to the booking deadline indicated. Shore Excursion tickets will bedelivered to your suite and your selected excursions charged to your shipboard account. Overland and exclusiveexcursions must be pre-paid by credit card through your reservation agents. If still available they may also be purchasedon board. Shore excursions require a minimum number of participants in order to operate as described. If this minimumnumber is not met, Silversea reserves the right to offer the programme at a different rate or to cancel the specificdeparture.

Guests are kindly requested to proceed ashore at least 10-minutes prior to the shore excursiondeparture time. The Shore Concierge team will be pierside to direct you to the appropriate transportation. When the shipis at anchor, guests must allow additional time to tender ashore. Silversea Cruises reserves the right to adjust itinerariesand shore excursion departures as local conditions dictate. SHORE EXCURSION SUITABILITYSilversea offers a broad range of activities for our guests of all physical capabilities. However, certain excursions are moreappropriate for physically fit and active guests. All excursions offered are clearly identified with an activity level to assistyou. We also offer a good variety of Accesible Shore Excursion worldwide (according to the ports availability and localstructure) that are designed for guests unable to negotiate motor coach steps or for full time wheelchair/scooter users.The vehicle used on this type of shore excursion is adapted with an access ramp (or lift where available) to accommodatea limited number of mobility devices. In order to use the ramp and/or lift, guests are required to be seated on awheelchair or scooter. For your safety and enjoyment and that of your fellow guests, please be certain to select excursionsthat meet your physical capability. We therefore encourage guests to review the excursion description carefully includingthe PLEASE NOTE section which includes useful information. Silversea also offers port talks onboard. ON LAND SILVER SHORE CONCIERGE SERVICESExpert Shore Excursion professionals are available to assist guests with their destination knowledge, personalisedplanning and coordination of all private, independent touring suggestions. This could include area highlights,flightseeing, water sports and more. To take advantage of this service, requests should be submitted no later than 15 daysprior to sailing and guests must have a deposited or fully paid their outstanding balance. Strict cancellation policies applyto confirmed, exclusive programmes.When emailing [email protected], please communicate your booking number. There is a service fee of $100per voyage to secure your arrangements, however this fee will be applied to your confirmed programme in that port. Please refer to the Silversea Chronicles for daily office opening hours. Onceonboard, those considering a bespoke excursion should contact the Shore Concierge team at their earliest possibleconvenience, as time may be a factor in reaching local contacts. Please be aware that once arrangements are confirmedthey are non-refundable.

PORT TALKSThroughout the voyage the Shore Concierge Manager and Destination Consultant will offer port and shore excursioninformation prior to arrival in each port of call. Their aim is to give you a travel experience that goes beyond the ordinaryand answer as many of your questions as possible. The information is presented in the theatre or is pre-recorded andplayed on your in-suite entertainment system, and will allow more time to enjoy and immerse yourself in each port.

SILVERSEA SHUTTLE SERVICEComplimentary transportation may be provided by Silversea when the local town is beyond a reasonable walkingdistance from the port. This service may not be possible in ports where a strong taxi union exists, preventing Silverseafrom providing a complimentary shuttle. The availability and schedule for this service will be announced onboard andlisted in the Silversea Chronicles. We are not able to advise this in advance. Operationally, intervals between shuttle busdepartures could be affected by local traffic. Silversea is not liable for any unforeseen delays. There will be a break inservice for driver meal times. Shuttle service is offered during the day only. The shuttle service is designed to augmentlocal transportation; guests requiring more flexibility may prefer not to wait for a shuttle and secure a taxi at their ownexpense.

CHILDREN ON TOURTo ensure the safety of our younger guests, participation by children in certain shore excursions may be restricted.Children up to the age of 8 years old are only permitted to participate in suitable Silver Shore Excursions and the shuttleservice if the vehicles are equipped with the correct safety harness and seating equipment. Such harnesses' and secureseating cannot be guaranteed. Alternately, guests may use their own approved safety seat, booster seat or harness aslong as they are compatible with the local touring vehicle and can properly secure the young guest. Silversea reserves theright to refuse children under the age of 8 years old on any tour on the basis of safety.

VIDEO/PHOTOGRAPHY CHARGESPlease note that photography at some museums, sites and monuments and/or the use of video cameras may not beallowed or may incur a charge. These charges are not included in the tour price and are at guests’ own expense. Furtherdetails will be in the detailed shore excursion description and please note section. Please ensure to review these in detailprior to departing on your shore excursion.

SHOPPING STOPSWhile our organised excursions are not generally geared to the serious shopper, some shore excursions allow for shortshopping stops as indicated in the shore excursion description. In the interest of all participants, guests should adhere tothe allotted time and return to the tour vehicle promptly as advised by the tour guide or ship’s escort. Please Note: Theselection of shops is generally left to the discretion of the tour operator. Silversea does require that establishments bereputable, of general interest to our guests and offer quality goods. However, all purchases are the responsibility of theindividual.

Explore the highlights along cobblestone streets and gain a fascinating guided look at the history of Old San Juan during thiswalking tour of the old city.Fort San CristobalUpon disembarkation, meet your experienced guide who will lead you through the historical Old City including a visit to FortSan Cristobal, a fortification that successfully defended the old city from attack by the British and Dutch in centuries gone by. Next, walk into the City through one of the side streets and commence on a stroll through history. Getting just off the beatentrack offers some fascinating finds that eludes most visitors that never leave the main streets. La Plazoleta de la RogativaWalk to Calle Sol. After making the tight descending turn downwards, you suddenly find yourself in the most beautiful sectionof the entire old city - the Plaza of the Procession. Dominating this little park area is a statue commemorating the miraculoussaving of the old city from sacking by the British in the 16th century. This vantage point offers views of the Governor's Mansion,the El Cañuelo fortress across the port entrance and the Bacardi distillery. A short walk down hill through San Juan Gate takesyou to the water's edge. As you return through the San Juan gate continue to San Juan Cathedral, retracing the steps of theoriginal conquistadores. Your guide will walk you to the corner of Cristo & Fortaleza Streets; at this point you decide if you wishto have the guide escort you back to the ship or if you wish to stay to explore the many boutiques and shops that line thecobblestone streets of the old city and return to the ship at your leisure. Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of walking, lasting approximately 3 hours, over uneven surfaces andsteep inclines and is thus recommended for guests in good physical condition. Guests can enjoy tasting up to nine different Puerto Rican specialities,which may include local coffee, mofongo, roasted pork, rice and beans, stuffed avocado, empanadas, quesito, Mallorca, mojitoor piña colada, ice cream pops and more!Notable Old San Juan LandmarksIn addition to tastings of local specialities, see historic sites such as the second-oldest Cathedral in the Americas, the oldestGovernour's Mansion in the Western Hemisphere, Plaza de Armas, City Hall, La Rogativa, Capilla del Cristo, Cuartél de Ballajá,Paseo de la Princesa, and other notable landmarks. Next, proceed for a guided tour of Fort San Cristobal, a mainstay of the San Juan fortification system. It is from this site that theSpanish successfully defended their city from British and Dutch attacks, as well as frequent assaults from various and sundrypirates. During your visit, be sure to watch their historical video on the area, and visit the dungeon to view centuries-olddrawings representing images of Spanish galleons on the walls. Free Time, Shops, Boutiques, Art GalleriesFollowing your tour, some free time is made available to explore Old San Juan independently. Armed with a map of Old SanJuan, you can browse some of the many interesting shops, boutiques and art galleries; part of the charm of this historic area.Following your free time, you may opt to re-join your coach for the short drive back to the pier, or remain in Old San Juan foradditional shopping and exploration, and return to the ship at your leisure. Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking, at times over uneven and cobblestone surfaces, hills andinclines, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach, and stairs at Fort San Cristobal and Old San Juan.
