Sunday 1st May & Monday 2nd May Tour de Yorkshire: A whole host of events are taking place in Middlesbrough town centre to celebrate the start of the Stage 3 race. Swift-Tees Running club: 9.30am—Run, Walk or Jog! ALL ages and abilities welcome! Meet at Cresswell Close (TS8 9QB.
Wednesday 4th May
Swift-Tees Running club: 6.30pm—Another chance to get into running, jogging or walking and practice your technique with the Swift-Tees. ALL ages and abilities welcome! Meet at Cresswell Close (TS8 9QB). Youth Disco at Hemlington Recreation Centre: Do the Dab, Hit the Quan or get up and NaeNae! 4.30-6pm for ages 13 and Under 6.30-8.30pm for Ages 13+
Thursday 5th May Bike Postcoding: 3pm-4pm: On offer at the Recreation Centre to protect your Bike against theft. Bike Doctor: 4pm-6pm: Bring your Bicycle for a maintenance check up outside Hemlington Recreation Centre.
Friday 6th May Youth Club: 6pm -8.30pm: at Linx, Hemlington Recreation Centre—Age 13+ welcome
Saturday 7th May Children’s Helmet Safety Activity: 9.30-11.30: Have fun and get creative at Hemlington Library Hub.
2015 saw the Tour de Yorkshire travel through cities like York, Harrogate and Leeds, 2016 is Middlesbrough’s turn with famous
names like Sir Bradley Wiggins taking part. Starting at Centre Square, the riders will pedal down Borough Road before heading
into the University’s new Campus. Then it’s down Linthorpe Road to the Cenotaph, before taking a short detour through Albert
Park. After passing the former Clairville Stadium site, the riders will swing onto Marton Road and up past the new Middlesbro ugh
Sports Village. Next stop is Stewart Park via Ladgate Lane, with the peloton rolling past the site of the birthplace of Captain Cook
before heading back onto Dixons Bank and past Poole Roundabout before the hostilities begin in earnest on the A172.

Tour de Sunday 8th May
Sunday 8th at Hemlington Recreation Centre will be Hemlington’s own finale to this huge event coming to our town. We want the whole community to come down and get involved in the activities we have planned!
‘Get on y’er Bike!’ Cycle Ride: 11am
A 5 mile ride around Hemlington Lake and Cycle Route. All ages and abilities welcome! To
register, come down to Hemlington Recreation Centre between 10-10.45am and sign up!
5k Fun Run: 12.30pm
Get active and have fun with Hemlington’s first 5km fun run on a set route around the Lake.
To register simply come down to the Recreation Centre on the day and register between
10am and 12.15pm.
Community Stroll: 2pm
A walk around the Lake for everyone to get involved. No need to register. Meet at the
Recreation Centre. All age groups, buggies and doggy friends welcome.
Activities 10am — 3pm
A host of other activities for all to enjoy: at Hemlington Recreation Centre
