INTRODUCTION A touch screen is computer display

screen that is sensitive to human touch. The display screen has a sensitive glass

overlay placed on it and we could give a desired input by touching it.

A touch screen kit includes a touch screen panel, a controller and a software driver.

TOUCH SENSOR A touch screen sensor is a clear glass panel with a touch responsive surface.The sensor generally has an electrical current or signal going through it and

touching the screen causes a voltage or signal change.

DRIVERS The driver is a software that

allows the touch screen and computer to work together.

ADVANTAGE OF TOUCH SCREEN

Direct pointing to the objects. Fast Finger or pen is usable.(No

cable required) No keyboard necessary.

DISADVANTAGE OF TOUCH SCREEN

Low precision by using finger. Have to sit or stand closer to the screen. The screen may get dirty. If a touch screen devise were to

crash the whole screen would be unresponsive.

CONCLUSION Though the touch screen technology

contains some limitations its very user friendly, fast. Accurate, easy and has been widely accepted. And now by just modifying a little it can replace the mouse and keyboard completely in near future.
