Meerkats  Their  scientific  name  is  Suricata  suricate.  They  are  part  of  the  Mongoose  family.  They  live  in  burrows  that  they  dig  with  their  long  claws.  Their  normal  life  span  is  around  ten  years.  A  group  of  meerkats  is  called  a  Mob  or  Mannor  which  is  up  to  five  to  thirty  members.  Meerkats  have  very  long  claws  that  help  them  dig  or  fight.  The  back  of  the  meerkat  is  furry  and  has  stripes  for  camouflage.  Meerkats  are  not  an  endangered  species.

How  To  Make  Rocky  Road  Ingredients:  200g  dark  chocolate  chopped,  125g  unsalted  butter  chopped,  1  egg  lightly  beaten,  1/3  cup  icing  sugar,1/2  cup  mini  marsh  mellows,  1/4  cup  shredded  coconut  and  arnotts  buttersnap  cookies  broke  into  pieces.    Method:    1. Grease  a  7cm  deep,  19cm  (base)  square  pan.  

Line  with  baking  paper.    2. Place  the  chocolate,  butter  and  icing            sugar  

into  a  saucepan  over  medium  low  heat.  While  cooking,  stir  the  mixture  for  8  to  10  minutes  or  until  it’s  melted  and  smooth.  Remove  from  heat.  Transfer  to  a  bowl  and  set  aside  for  5  minutes.  

 3. Add  the  egg  to  the  chocolate  mixture  stir  to  

combine.  Stir  in  the  cookies,  marsh  mellows  and  coconut.  Spoon  the  mixture  into  the  prepared  pan.  Using  the  back  of  a  fork  press  down  the  mixture  so  it  is  flat  and  smooth.  Cover  the  pan  and  put  it  in  the  fridge  for  4  hours  or  until  firm.  Once  it’s  ready  cut  it  in  half  then  cut  each  half  into  10  pieces.  Finally  you  can  serve  it  and  eat  it.  Enjoy!
