1. Introduction This document describes the procedures and cautions for set up the drivers of TFTST-56, LKBST-65 (PCI Card) on the ST-B20. The outline of procedures to set up drivers on the ST-B20 is as follows. Setup Procedure: 1. Installation of SMI VGA Driver 2. Installation of SMK Touch Panel Driver Note: The SMK Touch Panel Driver uses “COM4” port. Note: Unless any of the PS/2 mouse, the serial mouse, or the USB mouse is connected, the touch panel driver cannot be loaded properly, and calibration cannot be set. When installing the driver, connect any of the mice and let the machine detect the mouse.

2. Setup for Windows 2000

2.1. Installation of SMI VGA Driver

There is “Video Controller (VGA Compatible)” under “Other devices” of Device Manager at the ST-B20 that is connected to TFTST-56 or LKBST-65.

Note: How to confirm whether the Video Controller (VGA Compatible) is the target one for setting Open the “Video Controller (VGA Compatible)” property and confirm that the ”Location” is “PCI Slot x” at “General” tab. If the ”Location” is not “PCI Slot x”, it is not the target “Video Controller (VGA Compatible)” for setting.

Open the property of the target “Video Controller (VGA Compatible)”. Then, select “Driver” tab and click on the “Update Driver…” button.

When the installation is completed, the following window appears. Click on the “Finish” button.

The following window appears. Click on the “Yes” button to reboot the computer.

Open Device Manager to confirm the graphic driver has been installed. Make sure that “Silicon Motion LynxEM+” is registered under the “Display adapters”.

When the installation is completed, the following window appears. Click on the “Finish” button.

Click on the “Close” button. Then, reboot the computer.

Open Device Manager to confirm the touch panel driver has been installed. Make sure that “SMK PnP Tablet” is registered under the “Mice and other pointing devices”.

Open the SMK “Touch Panel” property of the Control Panel. Then, select “Calibration” tab and click on the “Execute” button.

The following Calibration screen appears. Touch the red marker according to the message.

When the Calibration is finished, the Touch Panel Property window appears again. Click on the “OK” button.

3. Setup for Windows XP (or WEPOS, POSReady 2009)

3.1. Installation of SMI VGA Driver

Open the property of “Silicon Motion LynxEM+” under “Display adapters” of Device Manager.

Select “Driver” tab and click on the “Update Driver…” button.

Click on the “Next” button.

Configure the necessary settings, click “Browse” button and specify “ST-B20¥Display¥TFTST56_LKBST65¥LVDS_via_PCI¥SMKTouchPanel¥2K_XP_WEPOS_POSReady_Vista_7” in the driver kit CD as the driver location. Then, click on the “Next” button.

Open Device Manager to confirm the touch panel driver has been installed. Make sure that “SMK PnP Tablet” is registered under the “Mice and other pointing devices”.

4.1. Installation of SMI VGA Driver

Open the property of recognized “Standard VGA Graphics Adapter” (free from exclamation mark) under “Display adapters” of Device Manager.

Click on the “Close” button. Then, reboot the computer.

Open Device Manager to confirm the touch panel driver has been installed. Make sure that “SMK PnP Tablet” is registered under the “Mice and other pointing devices”.

Open the SMK “Touch Panel” property of the Control Panel. Then, select “Calibration” tab and click on the “Execute” button.

The following calibration screen appears. Touch the red marker according to the message.

5. Notice and Limitation In the case of using TFTST-56, LKBST-65 (PCI Card) with Windows 2000, the computer can not return from standby state. In the case of using TFTST-56, LKBST-65 (PCI Card) with Windows Vista, the computer can not become standby state. In the case of using TFTST-56, LKBST-65 (PCI Card) with Windows 7, the computer can not become standby state.
