I. REASONS TO HOST AND PROPOSED DATES
Toronto is a city that lies on the border of adventure and beauty. It is located in the

city is one with ambition and a great drive to be exceptional. By hosting the 2028 Olympic
Games, Toronto will bring a new experience and attitude to the games and inspire people around
the world to achieve their dreams.
The motto of the Toronto campaign is, “Dream a Dream”. This motto shows the true
reason and purpose behind the Toronto bid. In Toronto we dream to host the games, a games that
will provide a new model for future cities, a games that will be sustainable, and a games that will
inspire all people of all ages. Toronto promises that not only will we make these dreams come
true, but we promise to make the Toronto 2028 the best Olympic Games in history.
This is our dream, and we look forward to sharing it with you.
Toronto proposes to host the games from July 21st – August 4
th and the Paralympics two
weeks later on August 18th
– August 25th
. This period would provide the most optimal weather
for athletes, sporting bodies, and media.
II. WEATHER AND CLIMATE
During the time of the games, Toronto’s average temperature is 77 °F-68 °F. And the
typical weather includes clear skies and with a few rainy days. This weather will be perfect
for the games and television.
III. TRANSPORTATION
Toronto is home to a mixture of transportation options including public transport and
many private roads. The city is a part of Canada’s interstate system and has many buses and a
subway system, all of which will be used during the games. Toronto being the largest city in
Canada, will be able to host the crowds using our system with order, comfortably, and ease.
IV. VENUE PLAN
The Toronto venue plan for the 2028 games will be centered around three main hubs, the
East Ring, Central Ring, and West Ring. These area’s will hold the majority of the events
and place the games in the excitement of downtown Toronto and the waterfront of Lake
Ontario. A smaller number of venues and Soccer Preliminary events will be held in the
Greater Toronto Region and in Vancouver, Ottawa, Québec, and Montreal.
Toronto will utilize many existing venues for the games and create a multitude of
temporary venues. The most notable construction will be that of the Olympic Park and Athletes
Village that will both be constructed on Toronto’s waterfront.
At this point in time Toronto is still studying the best venues to use and which sports to
place in them. What follows below are images and lists that depict the plan that may take place.
Some images are from the 2008 bid and are used for imagery purposes only. All of these plans
are subject to change in the coming months.
The Toronto venue plan will put the games not just in the heart of the city, but along the
Toronto waterfront. They will become the lakefront games and bring a unique excitement and
inspiration to the Olympic Games and provide a new sustainable model for future cities.
