The FPD programme has been designed to offerinvestigators:
Flexibility of entry points; dependent on the maturity of the ideainvestigators can apply for funding from any of the three streamsand if appropriate proceed from stream to stream.
Co-ordination between streams through having the onesecretariat.
Support to projects that meet their milestones and show promiseso that they can move onto the next funding stream with theminimum of delay and are accelerated along the innovationpathway.
A rolling programme of calls for proposals to better fit with theinnovation process
