Making the Blocks1. Arrange and sew together (1) each H, F, I, K 2-1/2” x 4-1/2” pieces alternating with (3) 1-1/2” x 4-1/2” J pieces to make a pieced column unit. Make a total of (20) pieced column units.
2. Sew (1) 1-1/2” x 11-1/2” J piece to the right side of the unit, and then add (1) 6-1/2” x 11-1/2” A piece to make an 11-1/2” square block.

3. Make a total of (3) blocks each using A and C 6-1/2” x 11-1/2” pieces. Make a total of (2) blocks each using B, D and E 6-1/2” x 11-1/2” pieces.
4. In the same way, the indicated number of mirror image blocks: (2) blocks each using A, C and D 6-1/2” x 11-1/2” pieces; (1) block each using B and E 6-1/2” x 11-1/2” pieces.

Assemble the Quilt
5. Referring to the Quilt Layout Diagram, lay out (4) blocks alternating with (3) 1-1/2” x 11-1/2” J pieces to make a pieced row. Sew the pieces together to make the row.
6. Make a total of (3) pieced rows. In the same way, make (2) pieced rows using mirror image blocks.
7. Sew the rows together alternating with (4) 1-1/2” x 47-1/2” J strips to complete the quilt center.
8. Sew 2” x 59-1/2” J strips to opposite long sides of the quilt center. Sew 2” x 50-1/2” J strips to the top and bottom of the quilt center.
9. Sew 4-1/2” x 62-1/2” G strips to opposite long sides of the quilt. Sew 4-1/2” x 58-1/2” G strips to the top and bottom of the quilt.
Finishing
10. With the backing fabric laying taut, layer batting and quilt top to form a quilt sandwich. Baste the sandwich and quilt as desired.
11. Use the (7) 2-1/4” x WOF L strips to bind the quilt.
