Are your students ready for the next step?
A*S*K Institute certifications are sponsored by the Business Coalition for Education (www.MBAResearch.org/GoCoalition) and based solely on business-validated standards. A*S*K exams are not related to courses or grade level, but are tied to career planning levels. They are appropriate for students of any age who have completed an appropriate series of courses or independent studies. Exams are rigorous, comprehensive, and relevant to the following business specialties:
• Fundamental Business Concepts
• Fundamental Marketing Concepts

• Concepts of Entrepreneurship and Management
Online exams (100 items) may be administered locally. Testing requires an approved administrator and independent proctor. Allow two weeks to make arrangements.
Exams are available from NOCTI (www.NOCTI.org) and MBA Research.
FAQ• Are A*S*K certifications recognized by industry? We asked the business community the same question.
Our human resource focus group participants tell us that there are thousands of certifications available. They recognize very few (with the exception of licensures, some very technical specialties, and a few that are very highly publicized). They also tell us that all viable, well-documented credentials, like A*S*K, do add value to a job applicant’s resume or portfolio. They encourage us to teach students how to present A*S*K certifications, in print, in person, and digitally.
• Are A*S*K certification exams appropriate for high school students? Absolutely, but only if they are serious about preparation. Most students who meet the minimum 70% standard have completed a directly related program of study.
• Do students get a badge, certificate, or what? All the above. Details are on the website.
• Can teachers proctor their own students? No. Proctors may not be teachers in your department. A*S*K exams are treated as high-stakes exams, so be sure to read the rules for testing.
• Can teachers take the exam? Yes. All of the same rules (including independent proctors) apply.
• Is there a pretest or practice test? Yes
• How much? Pricing is based on quantity, and is in the $19–$29 range, including complete recognition package. Pretests are much less expensive ($7.95 or less), but do not result in certification.
