Automation Service Level Agreement Seamless Applications Integration CAD/CAM Structures such as part lists, workpieces, and electrodes are generated in the CAD system in a neutral format and then transferred to the CERTA central process control system. Geometries, dimensions, and tolerances are also transferred automatically. CERTA sup- ports all leading CAD system providers inclu- ding CATIA, CIMATRON, Solidworks, Siemens NX, and VISI. All technological data such as NC programs, work steps, tools, and planning data are ta- ken from the CAM system and transferred to the CERTA system. PPS/ERP All production information is reported back to the PPS/ERP system automatically. This enables detailed evaluation and recalculati- on at any time. Intelligent Planning and Monitoring Reliable Planning Work plans detailing all work steps are im- plemented in production based on all the data from the CAD/CAM and ERP/PPS en- vironments made available in the central CERTA process control system. Informative Reports All operating and machine data are trans- ferred automatically to the central CERTA system. The user has access to a wide range of powerful tabular and graphical evaluation options. User-friendly export functionality helps the user to perform any analysis and evaluation tasks in downstream applications. Continuous Monitoring All machine tools are monitored continu- ally. In the event of malfunction, a notifica- tion is issued immediately via pager, e-mail or SMS in order to initiate steps to rectify the problem. Production Processes Automation Intelligent Production Processes NC programs for processing, offset data for tools, tool positions in magazines, as well as pallet and loading information are provi- ded centrally in the process control system based on the order. Automatic Workpiece Identification A fully-automated identification system based on intelligent transponder chip tech- nology (RFID) is available. This involves assi- gning electrodes to workpiece holders and making them available in the CERTA central process control system. Automated Quality Measurement Electrode offset data are determined auto- matically. The necessary geometry data, di- mensions, and tolerances are automatically transferred from all popular CAD systems to the measuring machine. CERTA supports all leading measuring machine suppliers. Tools and molds must be produced to high quality standards, yet cost-efficiently and in ever decreasing time intervals, in order to re-main competitive. Throughout the entire value chain organization, the central CERTA process control system takes on an important role. With increasing software integration and production process automation, the overall system must be highly available.
DynAMIC lIfECyClEThe software life cycle differs significantly from that of machine tools, where only the initial purchase state is obtained and maintained. Software is dy-namic and undergoes continuous development. Bugs are fixed regularly, and new functionalities added. But the central CERTA process control system does not operate as a system in isolation; many potential influencing factors can occur. On the one hand, the operating system on which the process control system runs is updated regularly with patches and service packs. Any change to the operating system can result in potential CERTA system errors. On the other hand, many different machine tool, robot, and measuring equipment controllers, as well as CAD/CAM systems are con-nected to the CERTA system. All components are also subject to regular software updates, which can have knock-on effects on the central process control system at any time.
REgulAR MAInTEnAnCE The integration complexity and the dynamics of the system as a whole mean the central process control system must be kept always up to date
to eliminate errors and also to benefit from new features. Just as a machine tool has fixed main-tenance intervals, continuous software operation must be ensured through regular maintenance. Regular maintenance is an important prerequisite to ensuring uninterrupted production. The CERTA maintenance contract provides a comprehensive range of available services.

For problems that cannot be solved straightaway by phone or via remote maintenance, we involve Product Development. A quarterly newsletter informs you about bug fixes and feature enhancements.
