I vote in favor of incentives for businesses when I believe that the benefits outweigh the costs. Examples of this are things like voting in favor of the Schlitterbahn project and tax incentives for local employers like ETS- Lingren, Integrated Bank Technologies and Coreslab. I do not believe government creates jobs, but I do believe that we can set the conditions for success to foster an environment where we attract and retain quality employers. The more businesses we can retain and attract helps to reduce the property tax burden on homeowners,” Dale said. In December The Texas Department of Public Safety listed the City of Cedar Park as the second safest city in the state of Texas. Dale’s record of supporting public safety includes voting in favor of building and opening a new fire station, replacing the aging VHS video systems in police cars with reliable digital cameras, voting to keep the tornado warning sirens in place and banning the dangerous designer drug known as K2 or Spice. On fiscal issues Dale believes balancing the budget and keeping taxes as low as possible while still delivering core services is the most important thing he does on City Council. In 2010 he voted against raising taxes and he helped craft a budget recommendation that would have kept the tax rate flat. “As we go into the new budget year I am committed to continuing to find ways to get the most out of your tax dollars,” Dale said. Transportation and parks are others key items on his agenda. Dale said, “I am proud to have voted in favor of road improvements such as Park Street and Brushy Creek Road. This road work will enhance safety and move you more quickly to your workplace, school and home. In May I voted in favor of completing our Veterans Memorial Park and it will be a place that we can be proud of for generations to come.” Dale was appointed to Place 5 on the Cedar Park City Council in 2009 to fill a vacancy and was elected in a special election in 2010. He is seeking reelection to a two year term in the May 2011 municipal election. Prior to serving on the Cedar Park City Council Dale was a Planning and Zoning Commissioner and served on the Cedar Park Charter Review Committee. He is a former  board member of the Williamson County Conservation Foundation and was appointed by the Williamson County Commissioners to serve in the 2006 Road and Park Bond Citizens Advisory Committee. At the state level his service to the State of Texas includes a 2010 appointment to State Senator Florence Shapiro’s K2 Task Force; appointment in 2009 by the Railroad Commission of Texas to the board of Alternative Fuels Research Education Division; delegate on the VI Texas Trade Mission to Mexico sponsored by the Office of the Texas Governor in 2005; and member of the State Textbook Review Panel for the Texas Education Agency in 2004. Tony is a husband, father, businessman and U.S. Army Veteran. His wife, Mary Lopez Dale, is a former Army Captain and owns a law practice in Cedar Park. They have been married for over 19 years and have two young daughters in Leander ISD schools.
