OVERVIEW
Where we began ResourceCo started in 1993 with a belief that we needed to be smarter about how we use the earths limited resources and how we can no longer just discard materials because they had been used before.
We felt that rather than following traditional disposal methods for waste materials, we needed to recycle re-use and re-manufacture into higher value end products.
We did not accept that the price of economic growth was environmental damage or that we had limitless supplies of energy and raw materials.
We had to become smarter about using what we have and looking for viable alternatives.
Where we are nowToday ResourceCo is widely regarded as one of Australia’s leading environmental services company and an international leader in resource recovery and advanced manufacturing.
Currently we have over 400 staff, operating in 21 locations, in all Australian States and South East Asia. We’ve established a series of partnerships that have seen us expand into a range of new areas and initiatives.
Through constant investment in research and development we continue to develop new and innovative technology that can more efficiently transform recovered materials into useable products.
Our ultimate goal is to achieve a zero waste solution. We don’t see recycling as merely a business, but essential for the sustainability of our planet, our economy and our future.
ResourceCo recycles in excess of 95% of all incoming materials while processing over 2 million tonnes of materials annually.
THE ISSUE u Around 40% of all of the world’s waste is from construction
and demolition activities. 1
u Cement is the most widely used building material in the world, with nearly 450 kilograms of cement being consumed yearly per capita. Making cement is an energy and resource-intensive process, with both local and global impacts. 2
u Poorly managed waste has a significant impact on our health, local and global environment and the economy. 3

OUR MARKETS GLOBALLY
Construction We provide a wide range of recycled products, including pavement and asphalt type materials, aggregates, concrete and sand, and services to major civil engineering projects and both residential and commercial construction. No project is too big or too small such as:
u major, arterial and minor road construction
u retail centres
u warehouse and showroom construction
u housing developments and apartment construction
Defence We have provided materials in the development of major Defence facilities, ranging from:
u infrastructure construction
u residential housing
Demolition The cornerstone of the business is the processing of Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste materials, consisting of asphalt, concrete, bricks and rubble to manufacture a range of recycled aggregates and recycled asphalt products. Recycling C&D material provides a diversion of waste from landfills including:
u the reuse of steel from concrete
u conservation of resources through extending the life of quarries
u full lifecycle of material/s from demolition through to re-supply to site for construction
u carbon benefits
Major Infrastructure Projects ResourceCo has a history of servicing major infrastructure developments as a major project partner. We work closely with our clients to create tailored environmental solutions specific to the project. Examples include:
u major hospitals
u medical research centres
u sports stadiums

THE FUTURE
In 1993 we never imagined that our business would be as large and diverse as it is today. No doubt, in 10 years time we will look back and realise that the journey had only just begun.
The demand to reduce, recycle and reuse materials will inevitably grow as we find new ways to solve environmental problems, improve the quality and extraction of waste materials, make better use of what we have and continue to reshape commercial and community attitudes to the disposal of waste.
ResourceCo has the vision, experience and resources to capitalise on these opportunities and, ultimately, to leave the world in a better place than we found it.

Our BeliefsWe believe we need to be a lot smarter about how we use the earth’s limited resources. We believe we can no longer just discard things because we have used them before. We need to find new ways to recycle and reuse everything. We can no longer bury, hide or dispose of waste materials that are polluted or toxic. We need to clean them up and use them again. We can no longer accept that the price of growth is environmental damage. We need to find ways to minimise the impact of our activities. We can no longer accept that we have limitless supplies of energy. We have to be smarter about using what we have and looking for viable alternatives. We believe that we have an obligation to leave the planet in a better state than we found it.
