TOMORROW’S WORLD TODAY
The age of life cycle data science is here.
We’re helping clients make sense of terabytes of structured and unstructured data produced across an asset’s life cycle. AECOM has the connected expertise and the global capacity to help clients manage, comprehend and interpret mountains of data — as it’s developed — and at each stage of the design, build, finance and operate process.AECOM’s data science approach makes use of advances in information management technology to create a holistic picture of our client’s data through advanced analytics, virtual design and construction techniques, and the creation of custom dashboards.
The results are impressive. Our data-driven insight assists in sound decision making while reducing risk and increasing our clients’ competitive advantage — saving time and money.
Transformational outcomes — i3 by AECOMTM
Managing information in a smart and coordinated way ensures significant time and cost savings — and the benefits are most impactful when you begin long before the first boot lands on site. Our award-winning specialists deliver real-world expertise across systems integration. With the skills to address complex structural and cultural issues, we bring data science and clients together through:
InformationValidating and managing consistently across the project life cycle.
IntelligenceCreating enhanced facilities and processes via sensory networks, predictive analytics and real-time reporting.
IntegrationDelivering across project environments, data sets and workflows.
DATA IS CHANGING HOW WE WORK
Dave Philp assisted in the rollout of a national BIM portal and associated
policy for the Scottish Futures Trust (SFT) in partnership with Scottish
Government. The portal provides guidance on the appropriate level of
BIM to be used by government departments based on an online grading
tool developed in-house by AECOM’s Project Technologies and i3 teams.

Denver International Airport, United States: AECOM provided technical design and construction oversight for the US$3.7 billion build. Today, we’re
on-site managing information used in the maintenance, design, and technology upgrades of the airport’s communications and electronics systems.
We work across markets and geographies to solve our clients’ most complex, demanding challenges. Our integrated approach connects national expertise with local perspective, bringing together the right disciplines and resources to deliver innovative information management and data science solutions:Information management strategies and implementationPromoting use of a common data environment meeting existing standards and processes.
Main Information ContractingEstablishing an integrated engineering environment for master data management, which provides advanced analytics, data visualization and integrated work flow design.Building Information Modeling (BIM) and managementDriving discovery and strategic development in addition to requirement gathering, implementation and management of asset information models.
Asset intelligence as a serviceProviding advanced performance analytics that assist in pre- and post-occupancy evaluations and system optimization.
Digital asset managementFocusing on portfolio-level solutions and soft landings with the creation of enterprise asset management roadmaps including smart cities.
We remove the struggle of coordinating multi-vendor data through our integrated approach to information management. With deep analytic modeling and reality data capture, AECOM’s experts query past and current operational performance to predict and shape the future.
Coordinate customer dataAs the main information contractor, we manage and interpret terabytes of project and portfolio data.
Real-time access to digital informationAt any point in an asset’s life cycle, clients can make more reliable, rapid and informed decisions.
Reduce riskCombining digital information with virtual design and construct techniques allows the creation of a built asset with minimal environmental impact, a more focused supply chain and fewer change orders.
Enhance system efficiencyReduce bottlenecks and assist decision making in both capital and operational stages. Using BIM, rapid data capture and simulation techniques we create computer-generated environments that mimic real behavior and ensure quality information, resulting in less rework, high efficiency and enhanced scheduling.Maximize performanceIntegrated information enhances collaboration and outcomes — streamlining handover processes, saving costs in the operational stages through data driven insight, and providing predictive data and real-time analytics which inform future-wise decision making.
Stockholm Bypass, Sweden: AECOM’s BIM work on one of the
world’s longest and deepest road tunnels is set to break new ground.
