The top two storeys of the QUTAB MINAR were reconstructed in marble by sikandar lodhi.

The tomb was surrounded by an elaborate enclosure about 76 metres square with high walls of 3.5 meter high and several pavilions.

This feature was actually borrowed from iran.its first traces can be found in the tomb ofShihab-ud-din Taj Khan (1501 A.D.), locally called Bagh-i-Alam Ka Gumbad.

Sayyid type architectural styleThe main tomb is supported by a 16-sided drum.Several years later, the tomb seems to have been copied from this sayyid tomb

Wall mosques surrounds the octagonal tomb in the middle of the enclosure.Four pathway edged with roses lead to east,west,soth And north and large old trees stand in the four corners.Each side predicted by three arches and angles occupied bySloping buttresses
