All our school communities share a vital commonthread; students and staff are deeply impassioned bypublic service, volunteerism and social change.Humanitarian and service projects evolve from aperceived need in the local, provincial, or globalcommunities. Our fundraising results for charitiesare truly astonishing. Whether our students arebuilding schools in third world countries or feedingthe homeless in their own neighbourhoods, there is acall to action and a willingness to right an injustice.

Lester B. Pearson School Board provides an exceptional educational experience to visiting international students. Every year we welcome hundreds of students from around the world. It is truly the experience of a lifetime for our local Canadian students as well as our visitors.

In our increasingly global economy, leaders in business, government, and academia are recognizing the importance of students gaining international experience, and becoming globally knowledgeable citizens.

Lester B. Pearson School Board provides opportunities for Canadian and international students to learn and study together. To date, we have welcomed students from more than 25 different countries. We are proud to lead the province in internationalism. We believe that international education does much more than open eyes and broaden perspectives; it is essential to fostering the global and cross cultural knowledge and understanding necessary for effective leadership, competitiveness, and security.

Our International Connections...

Our school board offers quality school-based daycare services subsidized by the Ministère de l'Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport. Daycare is offered on school days before class, usually opening by 7:00 A.M., at lunch and after school until 6:00 P.M. In addition, services may be available on pedagogical days provided a sufficient number of students are registered.

School daycares operate on a ratio of 20 students to 1 daycare educator. Our services are organized and supervised by qualified staff. We provide a program of activities that complements the learning that takes place in the classroom. We pride ourselves in providing a safe and caring environment.

To be eligible for the $7 per day fee, a student must be registered before September 30th of that year and attend at least 3 days per week for a minimum of 2 periods per day. Sporadic users may also register. The fees for sporadic users are slightly higher to reflect the real cost of the service.

Daycare Services

We are proud of the focus on excellence in our classrooms, our theatres, our music rooms, gymnasia and on the playing fields. Our students, regardless of ability level, find themselves working and enjoying a learning environment that challenges them and in which they feel supported and encouraged.

We look forward to having you join us in our exciting move into the future.
