What is Together North Jersey? • Voluntary partnership of cities,
towns, counties, agencies, non-profit organizations and others in northern New Jersey that have agreed to work together with the public to plan for the region’s future
• Funded by a Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant from U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development

– Stagnant/uneven job growth– High unemployment– Increasing debt delinquencies– Declining home values &
ownership rates
• High cost of living – Housing affordability– Transportation costs
• Fiscal uncertainty– High property taxes– Government debt burden– Looming service cuts – Unfunded maintenance

What will Together North Jersey do?• Undertake an extensive outreach
process to figure out what we can do together to address regional challenges
• Implement up to 40 local planning projects to address local priorities and inform the regional plan
• Provide technical assistance and training

– Interviews and small group meetings– 3 Together North Jersey standing committees meeting 3-6 times/year– 50+ public workshops over 18 months– Social media
