Toddler Shorts Pattern A FREE pattern courtesy of Twinfinite Fun

This pattern is designed to fit a

toddler from 12-24 months.

Materials:

- 1/4 yard fabric

- ½ wide elastic

Instructions:

1. Print out pattern

templates, cut, and pin the fabric.

2. Cut fabric.

3. With right sides together pin and stitch crotch seam. Repeat for both

legs. (Diagram 1)

4. Pin legs together, starting at the crotch and going up. Stitch.

5. Hem the cuffs for each leg. (Diagram 3)

6. Lay flat and trim about 1 inch off the front of the shorts, tapering up

to the back. Pants and shorts need more coverage in the back.

7. Fold top edge over leaving enough room for your elastic- about 3/4

inch. Stitch all the way around. (Diagram 5)

8. Cut a small hole in the back on the inside of the waistband. Use a

safety pin the feed the elastic all the way through. (Diagram 6)

9. Adjust the elastic until you are happy with the tightness and sew the

ends together, trim off any unused elastic.

10. Fold over the fabric where you cut your hole and stitch shut.

11. Turn inside out and see your creation! You can add buttons, bows, or

any other decoration you’d like. Get creative!
