Lord, as we face another week, I pray that all of us do good things
rather than evil doings. May this week be
our big challenge, for me, and all the peo-
ple that surround us. In your most pre-
cious name, I ask. Amen (Rexdel Mallari)

Jed Madela: Just beforeleaving the classroom after themorning dismissal, I wrote on
the blackboard: “Faculty meet-ing, 1:30 p.m. No classes.” It
wasn’t true. While I was havinglunch, students from other sec-tions saw it and copied it ontheir blackboards. So the entireschool thought it was legit. When teachers came back thatafternoon, they were surprisedto see just a few students. Of course, I made sure I erased
what I wrote on the blackboardbefore our teacher’s arrival.
Joel Lamangan: In a highschool play, I missed my cueand came in early. Everybody on stage panicked! I kept ad-lib-bing, but it was too long andbecame a monologue. The audi-ence didn’t notice, but ourteacher wasn’t amused. Shefired me! It was supposed to bedramatic, but it turned into acomedy of errors. The audienceand some actors kept laughing. To top it off, she was the one
who wrote the play.Ramon Bautista: My friends
and I placed concrete cylindersin our victims’ bags. They goteven by putting rats in ours!
John Arcilla: In high school,I often stood in the corridor. Butit was prohibited for students toloiter during class hours. Ididn’t notice my teacher, whotapped my shoulder with a fanand reprimanded me, “Why areyou here?” I shot back, “Why are you late?” I just stared at
her until she entered the room!

W
HAT would campus life be without a little mis-chief? It’s the best antidote to boredom. And
those “folies de jeunesse” always stand out inour memory when we recall our student days. We are allfree to do something foolish, at least once. But some of us are repeat offenders. I plead guilty as charged!
Since it’s back-to-schoolmonth, I asked some celebsabout the pranks they pulled asstudents.
It’s quite interesting to knowthat long before these stars be-came image-conscious (it’s in the
job description), they also misbe-
haved… all in the spirit of fun.Martin Nievera: I neverpulled a prank as much as aprank was pulled on me. My house was on the corner of abusy street so I was an easy tar-get. Schoolmates would honk their car horns, bullies wouldthrow beer bottles and friendsflashed their headlights all thetime. But the worst was whenour house and the big tree infront of it were decorated withtoilet paper. This was a com-
mon prank back then, but my parents were not thrilled at all.It took me the whole day toclean up the mess. Later, I wastold that it was a sign of popu-larity. Gee, I didn’t know thatfame was so full of crap!
Rita Avila: When I was in el-ementary, I tickled my friend sohard she peed on the floor.
John Estrada: Back in highschool, during All Saints’ Day,my friend and I dangled a lit
candle on a string, to make itappear as if it was floating inthe dark. A friend thought he
just had a paranormal experi-ence and screamed like crazy. We rushed to calm him down.To our surprise, there was apuddle where he stood. Hepeed his pants.
Gabby Eigenmann: In highschool, I had to pee so bad butthe restroom was full. I endedup peeing in a jar, but I could
not get rid of it. Our teacher
had arrived and I was forced tohide the jar behind a window.
After three weeks, the jar wasstill there. My classmate openedthe window so forcefully thatthe jar fell from the fourth floorto the ground level. The stenchreached all the classrooms. Ev-
eryone went out and gatheredat the quadrangle because of the ammonia-like smell.
Suzi Entrata-Abrera: The worst prank I pulled was in col-lege. I stumbled on an oddmail-order bride letter from aman who lived in the UnitedKingdom. I saw it in one of thebooks in the library and put itin my friend’s bag. She told ourteacher and they were about toinform school authorities whenI fessed up. My goodness, itcould have gotten so out of hand. My friend eventually for-gave me.
SUZI Entrata-Abrera planted a
letter in a friend’s bag.
