Behavioral studies show that bad parenting and backgrounds account to major social ills in the societies today with the evidence being in behaviors such as stealing lying cheating violence and many more. It has come to the attention of psychologists that most criminals are molded by their past present and society which they blame. Aggression, violence and crime in almost all cases starts at an early age and is reflected adversely in their adulthood.

The individuals who at a younger age were bullies develop antisocial traits which they carry over into their adulthood, and the chances that they are more likely than non-aggressive kids to commit crimes, batter their wives, abuse their children—and produce another generation of broken misfits of societies.

Girls too have not been left out either for they too can become bullies. The aggression of girls is greatly underestimated because of its more subtle and complex means of meanness than the overt physical aggression boys engage in, this has developed to the cyberbullying we now know of.

The sad fact remains that older bullies get, the more their aggression takes the form of verbal threats abuse violence and later criminal activities as the harder and bolder they become.

Today’s bully, tomorrow’s convict.

According to Diane Dimmon, the rates are escalating to show that the bully we forgive today will in most cases gather convictions in his growth into adulthood, thus it’s the society and family in general to step up their responsibility to the nurturing of their children.

Mind of the criminal

The criminal convict will at most times have a prior record, first time offenders at most have either evaded the law long enough to escape capture or are unfortunate to have gone down the wrong path of their life.

Most hardened criminals are progeny of a broken home and lack of proper societal collective to aid in the development of the young minds of teens, the formation of gangs, possess and cliques has gone along to worsen the situation by allowing the minds of the individuals to develop with a sense of belonging and a way of life where crime is fun and a norm. The point where the urban teen who are gang members becomes unreachable to teaching and moral advice, is where they are confined in rehabilitation and correctional facilities where they undergo societal readjustment sessions and group therapies. These facilities do as much damage as push the wrongfully confined teen into a world of criminality where they network and interact with hardened juveniles offenders who train them and induct them into their gang.

Gangland Adults

Juvenile offenders grow under the mentorship of an older criminal who will give orders and hits to other gangs and business establishments which in turn covers the mastermind from the actions done. The juvenile once an adult will now have a rap sheet that acts as a resume to endear him or her to more hardened criminals and increase his “rep” his street credibility and respect amongst gangsters.

Our mandate.

Society as a whole should not relegate parenting and mentoring to the school systems but embrace a more active role in the upbringing of children to ensure our society nation and world in general is a peaceful and better place to live in.
