Rules & Routines

In St. Michael’s we use a positive discipline policy. Our pupils are aware of the rules and regulations.

Pupils should be in their class line for 8.50 am as morning prayers take place at this time.

Written notes are required for absences from school, for medical/dental appointments and homework not done.

Children will be marked late on the register after 9:00am.

Homework should take approx 45 minutes. Please remember to sign and check each evening.

We encourage pupils to take pride in their uniform.

P.E. – White T- shirt and maroon shorts. Label everything!! P.E days are Monday & Tuesday.

How can I help my child with their work?

Numeracy – Revise times tables and quick recall of mental maths, as this will aid all aspects of number work.

Numeracy In ICT – Encourage children to work on Maths challenges at home on IPADS and online.

How can I help my child with their work?

Literacy – Hear reading on a regular basis. Encourage your child to read a broad range of texts, and develop their vocabulary skills with the aid of a dictionary. Encourage your child to use the phonetic skills they have on board to tackle new and unfamiliar words. Please buy and use a dictionary/thesaurus at home.
