Evaluating the 19 designs as equally presented on May 19th is still the tas at hand for the !"" #r oups $!%#& T A!& E!'. The DOTD evaluation is still ongoing and it is through the DOTD(s pu)lic input process $which includes the !%#' that the 19 concepts will eventually )e narrowed down to a selected concept re*nement option.  The fact that t he E!+ $T+#E, T eam' has chosen two of the concept re*nements to focus in on does not change the DOTD process. There is no requirement for the !%# mem)ers and their groups to view the conceptual ideas )eing developed )y the T+#E, T eam. "cores may )e su)mitted whether these designs are viewed or not.  The ma-or focu s of the E!+ wor is to s how how enha ncements near an d aroun d the corridor could )e developed for any of the concept re*nements produced )y the DOTD process. %e understand that the charrette process has created confusion for you as a !%# mem)er since it has chosen and focused in on a few concepts& changed them& and d eveloped them to a very detailed leve l. %e agree it would have )een )est for that level of charrette wor to come after the DOTD concepts were narrowed. %e have epressed concern to the E!+ group that those concepts are receiving preferential treatment )y )eing rendered to a detailed degree not a/orded to all concepts. On %ednesday& we reminded the T+#E, Team that the Tier + concepts are at the idea0conce pt stage. The !onnector T eam has compiled and shown the 19 Tier + concepts )ased on ideas provided to us )y the !%# and other community input regardless whether the concept is fully feasi)le or not. Tier + will use a highlevel evaluation of the 19 concepts to determine those that should move into a more detailed Tier ++ and Tier +++ investigation& which will include detailed review )y all the agencies responsi)le for these facilities. There are many technical aspects of all the options that must )e further investigated and validated )efore they can gain full support )y DOTD& 23%A and 4!#. The level of charr ette design wor that has )een developed around speci*c re*nements& particularly 5E& is risy at this point since more detailed review of these concepts must )e made to ensure that they are feasi)le option s that can )e advanced.
