TOAST MASTERS AWARDSToastmasters is the most enjoyable and affordable way of gaining communication and leadership skills.

Double C Toastmasters will give you the skills and confidence in a very friendly and supportive way. Once you join you will be given the opportunity to stand up and speak and you will be amazed to see the difference in a very short time. The programme is self paced and you will be assigned a mentor to guide you.

During the year the club has six public speaking competitions. The Rookies contest was held on 23rd November. There were 6 contestants: Jordan Falcioni, Dorothy Maraki, Christine Nicks, Kevin Pickett, Michael Sako and Sonja Vrtaca. The winner of this contest was Kevin Pickett and 1st runner up was Dorothy Maraki and 2nd runner up was Jordan Falcioni.

The Club had the Melbourne Cup Halloween Night on 2nd November celebrating Halloween and Melbourne Cup together with spooky speeches, hot racy table topics, fun & games and prizes. All members were dressed up in Halloween or Melbourne Cup costume or combination of both. A scary Melbourne Cup Night with lots of fun enjoyed by everyone.

We had our DVD night on 7th December. This is a very special night. We get the opportunity to watch the video on “The World Championship of Public Speaking” – the best 10 speakers in Toastmasters.

Since July we have welcomed 6 new members: Chuong Nguyen, Chamath Gunathilake, Jade Hoang, Kevin Pickett, Michael Sako and Sonja Vrtaca.

Our final meeting for the year is on 21st December which is our Christmas meeting filled with activities, fun and games.
