Engage Your Members for Good Governance Speaker: Midori Connolly, Sales Director, Everyone Counts, Inc. Next-gen association leadership, future-proofing against membership attrition, creating deeper and more meaningful membership engagement...all hot and timely topics for any member-based association pro-fessional. But have you ever made the connection between these burning concerns and your elections and voting processes? If governance has so far mostly been a check-box, you’re not alone. However, never has there been a more pressing need to fight voter apathy. According to the basic tenets of democracy, partici-pation in the voting process by its members is the key to societal stability. And as a functional democracy, an association should work to generate energy and interest in the vote as a way to further engage with its members and drive participation and value. In this session you will learn how to adapt proven techniques such as marketing and accessibility to re-create the energy and inclusivity of successful elections; while also learning about the current technology and security required to do so.

Midori Connolly wakes up each day inspired to use the power and mystery of technology to spark meaningful human engagement. Recently appearing in Wired Magazine, Midori Connolly is probably best known for writing the event industry’s first set of guidelines for sustainable AudioVisual Staging. As the “AVGirl”, Midori was a Platinum Speaker for MPI, Best-in-Class Speaker for PCMA, past Director on the Green Meetings Industry Council Intl Board of

Directors and was Chair of InfoComm International’s Rental & Staging Council. Now Midori is committing the same enthusiasm to her role as a Sales Director for Everyone Counts. Everyone Counts is artfully combining technology and change management principles to modernize elections for democracies and member-based organizations around the world. When not sharing her passion for sustainable change, Midori might be golfing, hiking, fishing, riding horses, or enjoying peaceful time with family in sunny San Diego.
