To Our Donors,

We celebrated new beginnings at the St. Vincent Foundation this year, and it’s all thanks to your generous spirit.

We celebrated the grand opening of the St. Vincent House, a home-away-from home for struggling families who travel far distances to be with their loved ones during an extended hospital stay. Families experiencing some of the most stressful days of their lives are welcomed every day at the House, thanks to you.

We celebrated the groundbreaking of the William K. Nasser, MD Healthcare Education and Simulation Center at St. Vincent. Associates, medical residents and fellows, nursing students and student learners will have access to specialized learning opportunities that will result in the best care possible for our patients, thanks to you.

We celebrated the completion of five new themed patient rooms at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent. These themed rooms bring joy (and healing!) to our youngest patients, thanks to you.

Among all these exciting new beginnings, it’s you whom we celebrate. Your generous support has provided hope, healing and comfort to St. Vincent patients and families this past year, and I look forward to another year of celebration and service.

The St. Vincent Foundation Awards $114,000 in Nursing Scholarships Thanks to Donor Support

The field of medicine is constantly evolving, and thanks to generous donors, St. Vincent associates aspiring to obtain nursing degrees have access to the latest in training and education through St. Vincent Foundation Nursing Scholarships.

This past year, the Foundation awarded $114,000 in scholarships to St. Vincent Indianapolis, Carmel and Fishers associates pursuing nursing degrees, ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 each.

Chief Nursing Officer, Mary Myers says: “As our patients’ medical conditions continue to become more complex, we need a nursing workforce with advanced skills and education which the scholarship program supports.”

Scholarship funds are provided through the generosity of donors, many of whom are grateful patients or patient family members who value and appreciate the outstanding care and significant contributions that our nurses make to patients each day. Scholarship applicants this year are pursing RN, BSN and PhD degrees.

The Caring Angel ProgramHonoring a caregiver through the St. Vincent Caring Angel program is one of the most meaningful ways to say “thank you.” This program invites St. Vincent patients and families to give back with a contribution in honor of someone at St. Vincent who provided extraordinary care. Below are some inspiring words from Caring Angel contributors this past year.

Mary Norine Walsh, MD, FACC “Dr. Walsh has been my cardiologist, friend, advocate and trusted advisor for 22 years. We have endured 3 open heart surgeries on our journey together. I owe my life to Dr. Walsh and the St. Vincent team who have been by my side through it all.”

Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent is on a mission to make pediatric patient rooms more comfortable and engaging for its patients. Thanks to generous contributors, five additional themed rooms are available for patients to enjoy.

Martin Marietta “Construction” Room

Themed rooms like the construction-themed room, made possible by Martin Marietta Materials, help make pediatric patients feel more welcomed and comfortable during their stay.

Protective Insurance “By the Sea” Room

A hospital stay can be a frightening and stressful experience for anyone, but especially for children. The beach-themed room made possible by Protective Insurance (formerly Baldwin & Lyons) provides a soothing and relaxing environment for patients.

Northwestern Mutual “Building Blocks” Room

The Northwestern Mutual Building Blocks Room is a fun addition that will inspire play and creativity in children.

Estes “Car” Room

Thanks to the Bill Estes Family and Estes Automotive, patients now have a car-themed room to enjoy, complete with an interactive steering wheel and gas pedals.

Protective Insurance “Baseball” Room

The fun and engaging baseball-themed room was made possible by Protective Insurance and will inspire children to make it to the “big leagues!”
