How the Silent Auction works
While the silent auction is open, you are more than welcome to bid as much as
you want, as long as you bid in the increments stated on the bid sheet and you
start at or above the minimum bid price on the opening bid.
If you are filling out the bid sheet, please be sure to fill in your name, bid amount,
table number and phone number so we can contact you if necessary.
Listen for the announcement on closing times. The auction in the Mezzanine will
close before the live auction starts. The auction on the main floor will close after
the live auction concludes.
When the Auction is closed, volunteers will highlight the winning bidders name.
They will leave the sheets on the tables so you can wander around and see if you
were the successful bidder. IF YOU WON: Take the bid sheet to the cash desk
on the main floor by the entrance and pay for your purchase(s). A volunteer will
retrieve your purchase for you while you are paying. Visa/MasterCard/cheques/
cash all welcome.
Thank you for supporting the silent auction!

2014 Silent Auction
Providence Care Centre
The dream, that has been 104 years in the making, is becoming a reality for
the Sisters of Providence. If you’ve driven by our site, you will see that the
new Providence Care Centre is finally taking shape out of steel and concrete.
Construction officially began in October 2013 and we are anticipating opening
late summer to welcome160 new residents.
The Foundation continues to raise funds to cover the costs of furniture, medical
equipment, tablets for supporting health care and recreational equipment.
As this is spring, we are starting to promote the need for the gardens. Grass is
very nice, but meandering pathways, benches to rest on, raised garden boxes
and raised flower beds offer interest for residents and their families. Trellises
and gazebos help to shelter fragile skin from the sun. For those residents with
sight impairments, the gardens offer a variety of sounds to stimulate the senses.
Our other major focus is raising funds for the Chapel; the Sacred Centre of the
Providence Care Centre. Government funding is not available for construction
therefore we need to secure the funds before we build. Work will get underway
this summer on developing the design of the Chapel.
There are several naming opportunities remaining for those who would like to
leave a legacy.
Donations can be pledged
over three years. We make
it as easy for you to donate
by accepting cash, cheques,
visa, mastercard or publicly
traded stocks. We would
welcome the opportunity
to tailor recognition to suit
you.
