Inprovidingassistancetoinjuredpersonsyoumustworkwithinworkplacerequirementsandthelimitationsofdutyofcare.
Thefirst-aidwarden,adoctororanambulanceofficeraretrainedtoprovidethebestmedicalhelpandshouldbetheonestoadministeranynecessaryassistance.
If,however,youareresponsibleforcontrollingthesiteuntilauthorisedpersonnelarrive,usethestandardSt.JohnsAmbulanceprocedureforemergencies,DRABC(Danger,Response,Airways,
Breathing,andCirculation)whenattendinganinjuredperson.Onlyusethisprocedureifyouaretrainedinexpiredairresuscitation(EAR)andcardiopulmonaryresuscitation(CPR)andyourworkplacepoliciesallowyouto.
